My husband and I, along with his parents, returned from a seven day Caribbean cruise with Princess on Sat. 2/11. We were vacationing for a total of 14 days spending some time in Ft. Lauderdale, Key West and on the cruise. This was the first time any of us had ever been to Key West, so we weren't sure what to expect. We had reservations, which were made over three months ago, at the Day's Inn in Key West for that evening at a rate of $175 including tax. We made a reservation based on reviews we had read on TripAdvisor. After driving all day, we arrived at 4:35 p.m. to check in only to be told by a VERY RUDE man working at the front desk that our reservation had been canceled at 4:00 p.m. We were told the credit card they had on file had been declined. The credit card number they had in their system was not ours. Apparently the reservation agent who took our CC information in Nov. keyed in the wrong info. They did not bother to call us to request another credit card number or let us know they were canceling our room. We had both of our Sprint wireless phones with us and this hotel had access to our phone numbers. I asked why they did not call us and was told that is not their policy.
Please make sure you check in before 4:00 p.m. or make sure they have your CC info. correct.
