Stayed 4 nights at this resort recently on vacation. Used points, so, I don't know the rate. It had some good bits and bad bits, as follows...
GOOD:
--Had a King bed suite, which was spacious and a pretty nice room overall. Has a living room/dining room and kitchenette, fridge, 2 TVs, bath with jetted tub, and a small deck overlooking the pool area.
--Pool area is very nice - one of the better ones I've been to. Not very big, but well kept and excellent in every other way
--Front desk personnel and concierge staff were friendly and very helpful
--Front desk has reasonable deals with local day trip folks for snorkelling, biking, other activities that are a lot of fun.
--Wait staff at the restaurant (and around the pool) were all good.
BAD:
--They actually charge $10 a day for parking!!! This is not Manhattan or some other congested urban area, they have a ton of real estate - this is insultingly bad policy.
--Location is not great - its on the opposite end of the island from Duval, downtown and most of the sights. There is an hourly shuttle though.
--Housekeeping staff were pretty bad. Took them a long time to get the room done, they twice left cleaning supplies behind and didn't actually finish cleaning the room, and they were seen regularly just hanging out in the hallways gabbing.
--The restaurant is mediocre at best, but priced high (as is everything on Key West it seems). Breakfast is a bit weak, and the upgrade from continental to full gives you just two things - powdered eggs and bacon.
--The resort does not have its own beach, it shares one with other resorts - but the concierge said that because of its location, its constantly overrun with seaweed and not a great beach. If you go to the state park public beach, be aware you'll pay $30 plus a deposit just to use an umbrella and two chairs.
Overall, I can't really recommend it, unless they are running a cheap deal. And looking at their website right now as a sample, it looks like its normally pretty pricey.
