“Nice but over priced”

We stopped at this resortt for a weekend in November. The resort is made up of several houses made into holiday flats. They are very clean and have large rooms. Located 2 minutes walk to main tourist area and Mallory Sq. I paid £150 a night for a 1 bed suite. Would look for somewhere else next time as i feel could of found better for price. No problem with staying there again though if your already booked.

“Great Stay at the Banyan”

We just returned from a lovely stay at the Banyan resort. We were lucky enough to trade our time share at a Westin resort in Scottsdale for our stay at the Banyan. I understand that this is a rare event, so we felt particularly lucky. I would definitely say the amenities at our Westin Resort out weigh what is found at the Banyan, but that is comparing apples to oranges, and the Banyan should be compared to other places in Key West only. In this light, it is terrific. We had a one bedroom suite, and like others have said, it is very clean, service is friendly and always accommodating, grounds are beautiful and the location is ideal. If there is a negative to report, it is the comfort of the beds....kind of stiff and hard. But after running around Key West all day, I didn't miss a minute of sleep because the beds weren't to my usual comfort level. The true test is, would we want to return to the Banyan for future trips to Key West, and the answer is a resounding YES! That's if we are lucky enough to get a reservation again.

My husband, and 3 children (17, 13 & 13) stayed at the Banyan from August 3rd for 5 nights. We stayed in the Cosgrove House which was directly on Whitehead. The property of this resort is beautiful. The pools are very secluded and quiet. Not a good resort if you have active small children. Our children are well behaved and not obnoxious so this was a very peaceful relaxing time at the pool.

We had a 1 bedroom room with a queen size bed. The bed is not very comfortable as it didn't seem like a real mattress but a thin one that reminded me of a crib mattress. The first morning we were abruptly woke up to the sound of mop buckets being dragged outside our windows to clean the grounds. The next morning it was the recycling truck dumping glass, and etc. every morning. The old houses don't seem to be well insulated from noise.

The location is fantastic and it is very private. Other than the noise in the morning and the uncomfortable bed it was worth what we paid. WE got $225/night for the 1 bedroom + we got 1 night free since August isn't a big season for Key West. (5 nights in Key West in a 1 bedroom for $900) Parking is $10/day and is down the street about 2-3 blocks. There is a loading area for arrival and departure but realize the car is down the street a bit. Which didn't bother us as we pretty much parked it and walked everywhere.

The grounds have a washer & dryer for guests use which came in handy as we could go to the pool and able to do laundry at the same time. The resort does not provide shampoo so bring your own.

There is a little bar between the 2 pools - that is open for a few hours during the day serving beverages which are very reasonably priced. I believe they also cook breakfast & lunch as I smelled food cooking and saw some of the guests eating.

I have attached some photo's and I would stay here again, I would just request to not be in the front building outside the laundry and cleaning for the resort.

Stayed at the Banyan Resort and loved it! It's very clean, with the option of full kitchen and dining area. Staff was wonderful. This resort is located within close walking distance to Duval Street and the Sunset Pier, both main areas of interest for shopping, dining, and nightlife. We would love to stay there again! Pic's of this resort attached.

    • Disliked — Would have liked a larger pool area. But I'd still give it a 5!

“my many viisits to the Banyan”

The Banyan Resort

We visit Key West at least twice a year. Most times we try to stay at the Banyan. This property is priced mid-level not being the cheapest but also not the most expensive in Key West.

The property is excellently maintained and the rooms (apartments) are kept clean and the kitchens well stocked with everything you may need to make from breakfast to dinner. This could add up to great savings if on a budget, as restaurants in Key West tend to be on the expensive side and the food not that great. .

The property has two pools and they are always sparkling clean.

There is also a small bar/hamburger joint on property. The resort is in one of the best locations in Key West, 1 block from Duval street, and only 3 blocks or so from Mallory Square. There are many restaurants in the area to choose, from Burger King, to French cousine.

For the money, this is the best property to stay in Key West, do not go to Key West without at least paying a visit (free) to the Banyan's gardens, well worth the visit. While there check out the prices, they will gladly try to sell you a week as this is also a timeshare resort (no preassures)
