Booked this on short notice on lastminutedeals.com because another resort didn't have us in a room without stairs. Called ahead and asked if they could give us a room with min walking to elevators and they not only did so, but upgraded us from a Jr Suite to a double bedroom. Very nice and huge room overlooking Duval street. It is expensive, but the great rooms and excellent location justify the cost

Othewise, I can only say location. location, location. This resort is right on the water at the foot of Duval st, so it is right next to Mallory Square, about 3 blocks from Sloppy Joes, and a couple of more blocks to the seaport places. They do charge for vbalet parking, but everything is so close you can skip the car. Take the Conch Train Tour or Rent a scooter for a day if you want to see more of the area.

Don't miss the Turtle Races at Turtle Krawls every Mon and Froi at 6PM.

We had stayed at this property twice before, and the recent renovations have made it all the better. We booked the "Love the one you're with" package and it far exceeded our expectations. Great breakfast, excellent spa facilities, and more drink coupons than we imagined! The room was nicely laid out with a view over Mallory Square. The cruise ships definitely mess up the view but we were lucky to have only one day where that was the case. We highly recommend Ocean Key Resort!

“Loved Ocean Key and can't wait to go back”

We stayed here for the last three nights of our holiday after visiting other parts of florida and loved the Hotel and the Keys. We arrived early after a long drive and were allowed to check in straight away. We had booked a junior suite but were given a 2 bedroom suite which was amazing. Our children had their own bedroom and bathroom and the views overlooking the ocean were wonderful. The hotel was expensive but we felt it was worth it.

Apart from the accomdation we used the pool, restaurant and Sunset Pier. All the service was very good and reasonably priced.

We loved seeing the cruise ships from the pool and did not experience any noise from our room from the ships.

There was so much to do in the keys and we found it very lively and we would stay at the Ocean Key again as the location is perfect.

“Seems it hasn't changed a bit!”

I stayed at Ocean Key several years ago and after reading some of the reviews, I see that not much has changed. It is a nice hotel at a great location but it does have a lot of issues. I went with my boyfriend and my nephew. We stayed in a room with a king-sixed bed and a sofa bed for my nephew. Well, for almost $500/night, we had to make the sofa bed. All the linens were inside a trunk in front of the sofa. I think for that price they should have made the bed for us. We also had an "ocean view," which was really a view of a cruise ship. Mercifully, after the second day the cruise ship left and we had our view back. When I booked the room, we had some sort of package that included a bottle of champagne. On the third day, I realized it was never delivered and ordered the champagne about 5 o'clock and asked if we could have it around 7 before we went out to dinner. It showed up way after we left for dinner. When we got back it was sitting in an ice bucket with melted ice. The location is spectacular with great views, but that is all you are paying for.

“Great place to stay!!!”

Ocean Key Resort & Spa

Let's get one thing out of the way. This place does cost a lot of $. If your going to stay here I would say definitely make sure you get an ocean view. We stayed in room 516 and the view was absolutely awesome! We had the pool right below us, all the action of Mallory Square right behind and we we're practically right above the ocean! The views we're just amazing! There were cruise ships as someone stated on some days, but by no means hampered the beautiful views. As for the location. Everything was literally just a couple minute walk always. Also very convenient was having a CVS right next door in case you need anything in particular. Which you will, believe me. The room is stocked with beverages and snacks but at a very steep price. We bought our own needs and used the refrigerator which they had no problem with us using. Room came with a Jacuzzi which was very nice and a bathroom with a beautiful stand up shower. Only complaint which is a small one is was the pool area. They have three cabanas which are used by the guests and plenty of lounge chairs which are accompanied with towels. Not that this is the hotels fault but something could be done. Some people like to go down and throw a book or whatever on a chair to save it in the morning and don't actually use it until the afternoon. It's rude and maybe should be monitored by the hotel. Not a big deal. Cocktails and food very good and the staff was very helpful our whole stay. Like I said, this place is pricey, but it was our first trip to Key West and if your going to come here on vacation, do it right and try this place out. You won't regret a penny spent!
