Nice base for Key West exploration. Our family of 5 was comfortable - when booking your room, be sure to ask about a balcony. Our 2nd floor room overlooked the pool but was unfortunately just over the bar - we had roof below our window and no balcony. The beach is a quick walk across the street. We watched the 4th of July fireworks from the beach - awesome! One negative - the bar has a happy hour and more than once, patrons became drunk enough to make me leave the area with our younger daughters.

We went to Key West for our anniversary, the trip started out pretty rocky, due to bad weather, plane delays, etc. Once we checked in at the Sheraton all the bad faded, the staff was wonderful and very helpful, the rooms are huge and I loved their shampoo, conditioner and lotion. They have a free shuttle to Duval Street which was great and a restaurant on the premises, which is a little expensive. There is a very nice pool area and it's right across the street from the beach.

Rooms are well equipped with flat screen HD TV and all mod cons you need in a suite. Staff is very firendly and helpful, breakfast is very good as well. The pool is excellent and also boasts a hot tub. Hotel also offers a complimentary hourly shuttle to downtown Key West which takes around 10 minutes. Make sure to be at the designated stop at least 10 minutes before shuttle departure as otherwise you might not get a seat.

Our stay at this Sheraton Hotel was the worse we have ever experienced. The rooms were overpriced, The staff was inexperienced both at the front desk and in the dining room and the hotel equipment was antiquated. If you wanted to use your AAA discount, the hotel staff did not register you at the hotel desk, but required you to go to their coffee bar and register online. This process took a great deal of time and was not reliable. The rooms were adequate and clean, but missing all linens needed for the sofa sleeper and they did not provide enough towels for guests. The restaurant food and service was horrible, especially at dinner and the room service menu did not properly reflect what was available from the dining room. We requested and were granted a one hour late check out time on the day of our departure, but we were locked out of our room (our key was invalidated by the hotel) before the regular check out time. When we tried to have a staff member let us in to obtain our luggage and leave the premises it took over 20 minutes. The hotel offered courtesy orange juice at the front desk, but never had cups for juice. The hotel stated they had a Starbucks Coffee Bar, but never had it staffed while we stayed there. I waited over 15 minutes and no one ever acknowledged me for any coffee service. I ordered coffee when I was seated for breakfast at the restaurant before receiving a menu and I was charged $8.00 for coffee. The only good thing we encountered while staying at this hotel was the pool area restaurant staff. This person was professional, efficient and personable. A real shining star. There is a beautiful beach directly across the street from this facility, but there are other hotels to choose from at this location.
