“Beautiful, perfect hotel!”

Marquesa Hotel

5 of 5 stars
Los Gatos, California
Jun 15, 2008

We decided last minute to accompany our friends on a trip to Key West and stay at Marquesa. What a delight! Only 27 rooms and tastefully decorated. Staff wonderful, location great (1 block off Duval). Private and soooo relaxing. Go for the "junior suites" that have their own private terrace and larger rooms with sitting area. We loved everything about it. Breakfast in AM brought to your door in less than 10min (homeade banana bread) coffee, juices, etc for $10. 2 pools . paradise. Thanks for a great stay.

“Reservation problem”

Marquesa Hotel

Tried to book a small suite at 300 $ ++, then the price got up to 350 $ ++. Price increase that we accepted without making any problem and finally, sorry, we cancel your reservation.
How does that sound?

“Marquesa Was Wonderful”

Marquesa Hotel

5 of 5 stars
New York, NY

My wife and i stayed at the Marquesa for 3 nights and had a great time. The 19th century architecture of the hotel is beautiful and the staff was very friendly. Our room (#15) was very spacious with a nice sitting area and a comfy bed. The location, just 2 blocks from Duval, is great. It's quiet, yet there is easy access to restaurants and bars.

There are lots of great places to eat in Key West. Here are a few we recommend trying:

Marquesa Cafe - Great restaurant at the hotel, great food, nice atmosphere, and a great wine list

Sarabeth's - We had breakfast here one morning. I had the pink shrimp omlette and my wife had lemon ricotta pancakes. Both were delicious. Definitely try this place, it's right around the corner from Marquese

Blue Heaven - We had lunch here, which was really good. It's a pretty funky place with roosters walking around everywhere (they're all over Key West).

915 Duval - This is definitely one to try. It's in a beautiful victorian house with great outdoor seating. We sat on the porch, which was great for people watching, and ordered small plates (tuna tartare was great, and the mussels were out of this world - order them is they're on the menu)

Banana Cafe - another breakfast place with a lot of crepes on the menu. We preferred Sarabeth's, but Banana is worth a try.

SevenFish - Eat here at all costs - it's fantastic. We made last minute reservations and sat at the bar, and was definitely our favorite Key West restaurant. The grouper was absolutely outstanding as was the penne with mango chutney, crawfish and scallops. Try the sweet potato pie for dessert.

Also, the sunsets in Key West are breathtaking. We went to Mallory Square for the "sunset celebration" on one night, but spent the other two at the Top Lounge (atop the La Concha hotel). It's a pretty interesting crowd, and the view is really amazing. One other note - the local Key West beer isn't very good, so unless you absolutely must try it, stick to something else.

“Marquesa has the WOW factor”

Marquesa Hotel

May 26, 2008

My sister and I stayed here for a week after visiting Miami for a week, and just loved the Marquesa hotel! Just after stepping into the cool air conditioned entrance of the hotel, we thought "Wow" this is just fab! Our room also had the wow factor, beautifully decorated and laid out and very spacious, with a lovely bathroom. The staff are very friendly and cannot do enough for you and are always on hand for advice as to where to go and what to do. The location is also perfect, less than 5 minutes away from busy Duval Street, but the hotel is a peaceful and tranquil stay. The pool areas are just wonderful, with a great cold pool for a hot day (which there were many) and a solar heated pool, both surrounded by lovely gardens, plants and trees and all you can hear is the gentle trickling of water. Key West is a great place with lots to see and do, and the beautiful surrounding houses are just wonderful to see with their magnificent verandas, wooden shutters and colourful blooms. Key West and the Marquesa topped off a wonderful holiday and one we will never forget.

“Jack/Janet Ohio Returnee"s”

Marquesa Hotel

May 20, 2008

As a longtime visitor to beautifull Key West(20+years),with extensive national and international travel experience,it's time to express our views on the Marquesa Hotel.

My wife and I travel annually (1-3 times/yr.) to K.W. Our stays have occured in most every month of the year, most recently December 27,2007 thru January 8,2008.,celebrating wedding anniversaries ,birthdays or what ever excuse we could dream up.

Without exception,we can say the accomodations and ammenities at the Marquesa are always excellent.Recent upgrades have added even more to the Marquesa experience. The overall environment is serene and peacefull, the staff outstanding in every respect. From the moment of checking in, with a provided glass of wine ,tranquillity seeps in.The entire staff, Dennis, Bob,Richard, Drew ,Mary and Carol extend every courtesy to welcome ,and assure a wonderfull stay at Marquesa.

From day 1- until departure, the housekeeping crew under the of leadership of Esther provides excellent and friendly attention to our every need and comfort ,and with a cheerful smile.

The beautiful flowers, lush foliage , tranquil pools and waterfall ,create a serene surrounding & are reason alone for returning to the Marquesa

Equally impressive ,stylish and fun the on-premise Cafe Marquesa is a splendid experience in beautiful K.W.Chef Susan presents a exquisite ,delicious and unique menu, beautifully presented in a casual ,sophisticated style. We would be remiss not to mention the awesome staff and wonderful service.Jeanette, the maitre-d along with Michael,Damon,Allison,Amy,David,Erin and our Meggie, all make the dining and invibing at the Marquesa --World Class and Fun.

Combined the hotel and the cafe are a reprive from the all to busy world, but close enough to everything in KW. We will be returning yet again in Oct., Dec., Jan., & are looking forward to hearing "Welcome Home" -- which is what the Marquesa is all about.
