Just back from 6 days at the Edison Beach House. Sorry to be redundant - but the hotel is spotless, has very well equipped kitchens, large, nicely furnished rooms and a friendly staff. We always try to find small, family run hotels right on the beach and this was it. Try to stay on the north side of the building if you can swing it. It's quieter and you get to see the awesome sunsets. Town is a block away. Wasn't crazy about Ft. Myers - kind of Spring-break-ish. Didn't matter though. We stocked up at the Publix, ate some lunches on our beautiful terrace and walked down the block for ice cream. I would come back to this hotel any time.

My husband and I just returned from our 4 night stay at the Edison House.
I had found Edison House by reading the reviews on this website. If you will notice all the reviews talk about how well kept and clean it is. Well, they did not exaggerate at all, it was spotless. I am about as picky as one can get when it comes to
cleanliness and this is the first place I have ever paid to stay that I felt completely comfortable. We stayed in room 206 and the lady that cleans the 2nd floor rooms is just amazing, she is friendly and works so hard. Everyone at the hotel couldn't have
been any nicer or anymore helpful. Thank you Matt for printing out our boarding passes for us, we truly appreciated that. We had a beautiful view from the room we were in, it was so nice to sit out on the balcony and just listen to the ocean while watching what all was happening on the beach. Every morning we would get up and they would have already cleaned the pool, cleaned the chairs and raked the sand. Edison House is in a great location, you can walk to wherever you want to go. Fort Myers Beach is not a place for fine dining, but if you do have a car, you can drive to nicer restaurants. We had a wonderful and relaxing time. When we go back to Ft. Myers Beach the only place I would stay is Edison House.

My sisters and I just returned from a 5-day stay at the Edison Beach House on Ft. Myers Beach. The location, room, staff, owners, beach and guests were more than we could have asked for. Located in Times Square, there were shops, restaurants, water sports and sand, sand, sand! All of the rooms are suites with full kitchens and a washer/dryer with balconies overlooking the Gulf. The owners and staff were the most friendly people we've ever encountered (and we've been to Disney on a number of occasions). The pool was warm, overlooking the Gulf and there were beach chairs on the sand and in the pool area for Edison guests only. We will be back again and again....

“Peaceful & Perfect”

My husband & I were in FMB in 1999 for the first time and fell in love with the peacefulness of the area. While walking along the beach one day, we decided to check on rates at the really cute pink hotel that looked so clean from the outside. The people at the desk were so gracious and helpful. They even gave us a key to go up to a room and check it out for ourselves. That was it ! We were hooked. Have returned every year since. Now we take family members with us. It is the best place we have found that caters to the vacationing family. I can't stress enough the cleanliness and attention to detail that this hotel offers. We especially like the fact that there is no "drunken partying" permitted at all hours of the night. (Not that we don't like to partake in a few brewski's ourselves during the afternoon.) Thanks to all of the staff at EBH for giving us many wonderful memories to cherish. Hope to see you all again soon. Take Care. Roy & Paige

“Repeat visit to the Edison was fantastic!”

Edison Beach House

Mar 24, 2008

The Edison Beach House was our destination of choice for Spring Break for the second year in a row. The family friendly location, easy access to good restaurants, and all the amenities you would think of in room were the primary factors. We ate out more than last year, but still relied on the full kitchen for breakfasts and lunches in room.

We have now stayed in an A, D and F rooms and have to say that the D room (#207) is by far our favorite from a layout and comfort perspective. The sleeper sofa in the F room was only slightly less comfortable than the queen bed, both less desirable than the 2 queens in the D. The "market center", a few blocks from the hotel, provided great food and lots of live entertainment for our kids (street performers doing magic shows, feats of agility, marionettes, etc.).

We had an opportunity to meet the hotel owner (Larry) who was friendly, genuine, and interested in making sure we were enjoying our stay. Some of the other reviews on this hotel and particularly the staff weren't so positive, which is completely the opposite of my experiences here. When we changed rooms (to get a better room that became available) the staff moved everything for us while we were out and about. Service, location and value were all top notch in this family's opinion. This hotel gets another big thumbs up from us, and we will be visiting them again without a doubt.
