Ok - this is one of those places " you get what you pay for" we had a great room ( 213) with a great view - it is not a 4 diamond place and you should not expect that - we went over father's day weekend, which as a group we have done every year for sometime now - we book a bunch of rooms and camp out on the grass all day - enjoy the pool and beach -

Our room was clean- and bright - the kitchen supplies were not over the top - but we did not use them -A bigger coffee maker would be nice but not a big deal as they serve coffee down by the office - breakfast is not over the top- but hey - it's free and there are LOTS of choices nearby

The parking is the most difficult part of our stay - we get there, park our car and don't move it - parking is a premium -

Again, the price is right for our group of friends that hit this spot every year -

I was at this hotel from June 11-15 2008 and it was my 4th stay at this location. I make the calls directly to them due to being there the last 4 years. The staff is courtious and friendly and they are quick to assist with any issue I had. I will be back next year for my yearly girls weekend! Thanks

My husband and I used it only for sleeping. I had called in advance AND had rechecked the day before "check in" to make sure we had a room on the second floor and was told that we did...and was given room #204. But upon arrival, we were told that room was already given out and that there were no other available rooms on the second floor unless we wanted a smoking room. Which I can not do because it makes sleeping difficult for me....so instead we got the nasty room...the one with the stained carpet that was slightly damp...probably due to the a/c unit that didn't drain outside but rather inside the room. So yea, the room was musty and slightly funky in smell. We had to buy an air freshener to help counter the funky smell. Use Oust disinfectant if you ever get stuck with a room like ours it helped elevate the smell a bit....not all...but at least some. The clerk didn't seem interested whether we wanted to stay or not, he was too busy answering his cell phone to care one way or another. But since we were already there and the price was okay and we weren't really going to be in the room much it didn't really matter too much to my husband either. So I held my tongue and beared it. The cleaning lady was nice though but the breakfast lady was not. I tried getting breakfast but the lady locked the door 7-10 minutes before 9 am so people wouldn't come in and if you didn't go to the front desk (like me) to inquire about it it would stay locked....and that was the first 2 days we were there. On our last day there was a different girl who was in charge and SHE at least did NOT lock the door until 9 am. Overall, it was an okay stay since all we used it for was to have a place to sleep and it was right by the beach. The other cool thing about it was that it was right next to Ocean Deck. One other thing, since it's so close to a bar/restaurant be prepare for some rowdy disturbances late night. Our second night there had some kind of commotion that had the police on the premises.

Just returned from a wonderful stay in florida. We stayed four nights at the Super 8 Oceanfront on Daytona Beach. First let me say my wife and I are beach people. By that I mean we spend our time on the beach or outside almost all the time. We are in the water or outside at the tables or on the beach. We dont spend much time in the room. With that said we dont need a fancy room with all the frills. We need a room that is clean and supplied and has a staff of friendly and prompt people. This motel met all our needs we had two small problems at different times and the staff was immediately on it. The room is not five star so dont expect it. It was clean and had stove, fridge, microwave, sink and dining table. You can come in the front door and go out the back door and on the beach (we were bottom floor beach front) they have only about 10 of these. Would we do it again? Absolutely! We like to boogie board and waves were sufficient and safe (not quite as good as Cocoa Beach) better than gulf which has none. Water is about 77 and very comfortable. Motel has nice 9' deep pool. We were about 1/8 mile from pier, Ocean Deck restaurant is next door and is excellent! If you like a good burger go to the boardwalk and right at the steps going up on the pier there is a place that sells a good old burger (may be addicting). Many many shops close all in walking distance. Ocean walk is close. Most of the other beaches we went to had no shops or food on beach. There are rental vans on beach with umbrellas, chairs, boogie boards, bikes, atvs, etc. Fireworks on saturday night off the pier. Although Daytona has cars on beach this small area from north of the pier south past our motel is restricted to no cars. This was our time alone so we enjoyed the beach! What do you want? Shopping, movies, bar BQ, nice pool, sand under your feet, a bar next door, sunrises, walks on the beach this motel has it. Like I said, what we wanted was a nice beach with nice people, clean room and a low price. Dont go expecting five star. We had no problems of any kind in Daytona.
