“Left as soon as we could! 1-800-RUN”

Oceanside Inn

Mar 26, 2008

We booked into the Oceanside Inn for 3 nights but left in the morning. The staff offered for us to stay in another room but we opted to find something that did not have ants crawling on the food that was on the floor. It was not super cheap at close to 200 a night (Spring Break) and if there was zero's in the ratings that is what I would give. Our daughter lost part of her toy and when looking under the bed for it we found popcorn, cheerios, grapes, gummie bears and ants crawling on peanuts. Food also on the window ledges, and throughout the room. The staff did not argue when we cancelled the following two nights and left. The website makes it look A LOT better than it is. Must be original photos from many years ago or the webmaster deserves a gold medal for making their site look so good! Did not want to eat breakfast after seeing the bugs in our room. Could not see much out of the windows as it did not look like they had been washed in quite a while. Also I agree with the smell in the outdated lobby. Will never stay there again!

“Great for a budget”

Oceanside Inn

Jan 10, 2008

Ok. My girlfriend and I are under 21 years old so it is very difficult for us to get a hotel room due to other people my age going to a nice hotel and distroying and disturbing everyone there. So, we booked the Oceanside Inn because we could check in there. The hotel is pretty gloomy when you first pull up to it. The lobby is pretty nice but had some sort of smell. The staff there was nice. We had a problem at booking where they told us we did not pay the taxes on the hotel and the we owed $200. The problem was fixed immediately. The room itself was pretty large and the bed was comfortable. The TV had full cable, not the normal 7 channels you usually get in a hotel. The free breakfast was substantial and some bit edible. The main problem in this place is housekeeping and construction. Housekeeping is REQUIRED to clean your room every day at about 8 am. Now, this is fine if you eat breakfast, but some days we wanted to sleep in. You cant just tell them to leave, you have to open the door, and sign a paper saying that you didnt want your room cleaned. We had 3 housekeepers and only one was great, with a great attitude, so SHE got a great tip at the end of the week. The hotel is remodeling the 7th floor. Gets noisy early. But honestly, for a pretty cheap hotel on the beach, it was a good stay.

“Great Hotel & Staff”

Oceanside Inn

Dec 10, 2007

GREAT HOTEL!

The Oceanside Inn is right on the beach, with one of the best locations in Daytona.

The staff is very friendly and helpful, and we had a terrific stay.

The rooms and hotel in general were very clean, with a casual, friendly atmosphere.

If you are heading to Daytona Beach for business or pleasure, you will not be disappointed with the Oceanside Inn.

“Skip this one!!”

Oceanside Inn

Was impressed when we entered the lobby but the is where the wow impressions stopped!
Elevators are small and outdated as are the bathrooms (not enough room to keep your toothbrushes on the sink!. If this hotel has had a recent updating they need to ask for the $$ it cost them back!!
The best thing this hotel has is the beds & bedding!!!
Large plasma TV but who comes to a resort/spa to watch TV?, I could stay home for less $$ if this is what I thought was impressive. The cable box on the TV didn't work and everything about the TV was inoperable until maintenance came and replaced the box. Shortly there after the new box stopped working so we fixed it our self rather that throw it off the balcony as my husband suggested!
Upon checking out the front desk didn't even ask how our stay was (even lower class hotel know enough to ask this ) & when I proceeded to explain our problem hew reply was she would refer it to maintenance as though that would help us!!
Even though the money is not the issue we have stayed in nicer and better appointed hotels for less. We had intended to stay another night but chose to go elsewhere.

“Clean, good value, nice staff”

Oceanside Inn

Stayed here during an event in Daytona for $79 for a Jr suite, nice big room with small kitchen and comfy couch. No surprises, no bugs, clean, well appointed room. Bar downstairs has 2 for 1 all the time. Breakfast is all cold stuff but free, as is covered parking and internet, but signal drops quite often, so if you have an aircard, bring it. This won't be free a year from now. Rooms are very soundproof except for door closings in the hall (typical). Hotel is sold out and I haven't heard a peep. No sheer curtains, only heavy, so it's either light or dark. Balconies are absent but plenty of glass. Staff is friendly and helpful and American! Property is immaculate and I saw people outside picking up trash at 0630 in the morning, a good sign. Convenience store across the street for 7-11 type needs. I'd stay here again anytime.
