Checked in 6/6/08 around 10:00 pm, stayed in room 521. When we opened the sofa bed to get ready for bed there were crumbs in the bed and a blood stained sheet. Called mgmt, sent a person up to change sheets. No pillows for bed..called for pillows. Odd odor in room. During the night noticed there was no hot water to wash hands. Morning came still no hot water. Went to pool, which was the only thing that was nice about this hotel. No cooler at pool rule, I am not used to this. We checked out and found out approx. 4 hours later that my husband had left my Brookstone "NAP" pillow behind at the hotel. I went back to get it and waited..and waited...and waited while housekeeper in charge went to check for the pillow. She finally came back and said that yes, the housekeeper had found the pillow and turned it in, however it had disappeared from the housekeeper quarters and couldn't be found. So dirty, nasty sheets, no pillows left for sofa bed, no hot water, odd smell and someone who works for hotel steels guests items that were only left behind for approx. 4 hours. No I will not stay at this hotel again and would not recommend it to anyone. If you can't trust your employees, you have a real problem.

I am so sorry for your experience at our hotel. We strive every day here to provide 100% guest satisfaction and clearly we fell short of that during your stay. To clarify, the pillow that housekeeping did find, belonged to a different guest that lost their pillow as well.

It is only in knowing our weakness that we can improve the guest experience so I thank you for taking the time to express your views.

I would encourage you to contact me so we can discuss this further and allow us one more chance to meet your needs.

Thank You

“Enjoyed our stay”

We were on our way home from Universal Studios in Orlando when we decided to stay at the Hawaiian Inn. It is a large hotel with five floors that is located directly on the ocean.

What we liked about it: the pools (one indoor and one outdoor), the yard in general (attractive and pleasant), proximity and ease for getting to the beach.

What we didn't like: When we checked in, the desk clerk offered us a room that was located right in the lobby area (Room 114). This room is also next to the elevator shaft. I refused to take that room. The front desk clerk protested only a little, but in the end he offered us a room on the fifth floor overlooking the ocean. It also had a balcony.

The room was very attractive, with apparently new carpeting, an overhead TV, a thick mattress, a bar table and high bar-style seats.

We had one problem with the room, and that was the air-conditioner. It was very noisy. We actually turned it off so that we could go to sleep at night, but we ended up turning it back on later on because it became too hot. When we checked out, I commented on the noisy air-conditioner to the desk clerk. She more or less nonchalantly said, "It's an old hotel" as if that were the answer to the problem.

I am not sure if I will return to this hotel if I can't get a quieter room. Everything else was fine.

“Think about who you book with”

The first room we were given was nice except the doors did not work. We could not open them. My son almost got locked out. We were moved to her unit. Her unit was nice. We then had to deal with hotel maintaince coming in and out on our last day because of a leak below us. We then had no hot water to take showers or wash dishes with. When we got home I found that we were charged a $50 charge to our credit card. I contacted the booker and was told it was for excessive laundry and furniture that was out of place. IF STRIPPING THE BED LINENS is called excessive then she does not understand sanitary practices. It is very disturbing to me that her cleaner does not normally wash all of the bed linens. We also left the futon down, for the life of me I could not get it to go back up. I though instead of breaking the futon we would leave it down for the cleaner to put up. She told me it was too heavy for her cleaner to put up. That probably explains the dirt/food behind the futon that we found. What killed me was that she said she should have charged me a cleaning fee for relocating to a new room. I could not believe that comment. Just be careful of who you book with!

“Do Not Book With This Woman!!”

Hawaiian Inn

Jun 16, 2008

Please, whatever you do, do not book with this woman!! We booked her personal room, thinking that it would be our safest bet for getting a decent room, but we were mstaken. The room had had plumbing problems and so it stank and the linens smelled like mildew. The bed sunk in the middle and we got no sleep that night. The balcony door lock was broken and the railings on the balcony were at least 8 inches wide--my 4-year old could fit through! At first she did not want to help us, but she eventually moved us to another, so-so room where we finished out our stay. We just got home yesdterday, however, to find that she had charged us $25 for everything she could think of, like not taking our trash to the dumpster and using too many towels! I will never use this woman for anything again and I hope no one makes the same mistake I did!

A small hole was placed in the tile by maintenance to repair a valve stem. This woman swore up and down that it was making the unit "stink." Maintenance returned to the unit to investigate, and called me stating "there is no odor whatsoever." All of the engineers were busy with plumbing problems at the other end of the complex, and couldn't get there within the short timeframe of her stay (3 nghts). The bed was brand spanking new with a very plush, thick pillowtop mattress. After this woman departed, there was a same-day check-in. No complaints whatsoever from those people about a smell, bad bed, or anything else. I called them to inquire, and they were, indeed, very pleased with the unit. The balcony in this unit is the same as every other balcony in the complex. If it were unsafe, we'd have been shut down. I don't know where these accusations are coming from, but they are definitely NOT true. By the way, the hole in the tile was the size of a half dollar.

I really had a nice room I was on the 5th floor. We had a oceanview room. The only thing that I would change would be the second bedroom. It had a divider instead of a door but was not hanging off or any thing just did not have a door. But the room was nice. The beds were comfortable felt like a foam material on them had no springs in your back. Which made it nice. My two children really enjoyed the stay with the large hot pool as they call it. Golf they did not get a chance to play that is why we are going back in July.
