“Relax at Celebration Hotel”

Celebration Hotel

3 of 5 stars
Bayonet Point, Florida
Mar 15, 2008

We have a timeshare at the Boardwalk at Disney but had heard so much about the Celebration Hotel so we decided to stay one night. They checked us in early around 2:30 because I had called ahead for an early check-in. The town is very quaint and inviting. The hotel is very nice with a pool and hot tub. We ate at the hotel restaurant Plantation which was excellent. We walked into the town which is right by the hotel and had a nice lunch. We sat by the lake which reminded us of a bygone time. We took a ride around the development and it seems like a wonderful community. We were glad we experienced what it must be like to live in this town inspired and built by Disney. It was a nice diversion that forces you to sit back and take it all in.

“Nice Hotel, but not quite 4 Diamonds”

Celebration Hotel

Mar 1, 2008

We stayed 4 nights at the (AAA 4 Diamond) Celebration Hotel. One of the 1st things that impressed us was the staff. We had requested an early check-in on the morning of arrival, and the front staff was very attentive at meeting our request. Once our room was ready, they called us to tell us the room was ready (and was ready when they said it was going to be).

The rooms are nicely furnished while maybe a bit on the smallish size. The bathrooms were clean but nothing to write home about. One disappointment (and the main disappointment) was the bedding. We've stayed in some lower quality hotels that had very nice sheets and soft luxurious bedding. We thought, especially for the price we paid, there should be more comfortable beds.

It was nice to get 2 water bottles a day that is included in the $12-a-day resort fee (which also includes internet access). However, we probably could have bought a bottle of water for less than $6.

The hotel is nicely located about a 5 to 10 minute drive from all of the Disney parks. The town of Celebration is also quaint. Self-parking was not a problem at all. Most of the time we got a parking spot right outside the hotel. (As a hint, if you go to www.mousesavers.com, you can get hints on getting very cheap rental rates.) Their Disney shuttle is pretty much a joke as they only have 2 pick-up times only at Epcot, making it pretty impractical, and I am guessing very few people use it.

If the bedding had been better, we would agree with the 4 Diamond rating. Overall, if you don't want to stay in Disney and want a small scale hotel, this is not a bad choice.

“All I want is water hot enough for a bath and internet service”

Celebration Hotel

Jan 18, 2008

Yes the hotel and town are pretty, a little plastic for my taste.
Participating in a conference meant that I cared about internet hookup, hot baths for end of the day relaxation, and my normal very early morning ritual of tea with milk.
Internet hookup- a problem from the get-go. Wireless service was one of the two amenities that was useful to me as part of the recreation fee of $12- the other was two bottles of water a day - this fee is a little over the top- I guess a way to charge more money- come on- two bottles of water for $12.00. Others in my group had similar problemswith the internet- and we were directed to a internet tech service which held me on the line for too long and then hung up and told me to call back- three times- what put me over the top was when they charged me for the calls.
For people who like a bath at the end of a long day- forget it- the Mywater is not hot enough for a bath- it is boarder-line hot enough for a shower if you you have it all the way on to hot- this is from a person who usually finds hot tubs too hot.
Don't assume you can pick up anything in town you forgot or have a craving for. There is no grocery store, or variety store, try to find something as simple as a hair brush or comb- or a container of milk - not possible. Lots of tourist type shops though.
Okay, I am doing a little venting, but come on guys, figure out the internet thing, turn up the water, and have a few of the things people might have forgotten in your storage room (they did russle up a comb after a lot of searching)
How do we save the planet if you don't give us the choice to not have the sheets changed daily....
.You are a luxury hotel, go the extra mile

“Beautiful Hotel, Great Service”

Celebration Hotel

Dec 28, 2007
2/2 found this review helpful

This is a beautiful hotel with old Florida Charm. Much better value than the high end hotels on Disney Property and you are only 10 minutes from most of hte parks. Celebration has lots of fantastic restaurants right out your front door and a Starbucks. Try Sherlocks for amazing sweets and tea, Antonio's is incredible for Italian and Columbia serves typical Spanish cusisine including Cuban and Puerto Rican influences. These cultures shape much of the food in Florida, not to be missed -- treat yourself to the white Sangria,

    • Disliked — The formal restaurant is too formal and stuffy, but lots of great places within walking distance

“loved clebration hotel”

Celebration Hotel

My husband and i stayed at celebration hotel the first two weeks of December. Always wanted to stay there and completely lived up to our expectations. Upon check in we were upgraded free of charge to a water view room with a beautiful view of the lake and swimmimg pool and could sit on the balcony listening to our Bose stereo which was a lovely touch to the room. Room was clean and comfy with lovely beds, coffee maker, mini bar, A/C dressing gowns etc. The pool area was small but lovely and very quiet during our stay and we made good use of the hot tub. Parking was never a problem as other guests had commented on and we always found a space near the hotel. The lobby area is welcoming with pan piped christmas music playing in the background and an impressive christmas tree. All staff friendly and helpful . The overall ambience is very peaceful and relaxing and away from the hustle and bustle of Disney and other tourist traps. We did visit the parks and the location was very convienient being a 10-15 min drive but is was always nice to return to celebration at the end of the day. We have stayed at numerous hotels in orlando including some of the Disney resorts and this beat all of them and exceeded our expectations . If you want a hotel that has character and style but is a peaceful retreat then stay here. The hotel is located right in the town square and there are numerous restaurants, 1950's style diner, starbucks etc on the doorstep plus celebrations own cinema. The walks round the lake were beautiful and there is a jogging track or you can hire bikes to ride around exploring celebration. We loved our stay and will definately return as soon as possible!!
