“All I want is water hot enough for a bath and internet service”

Celebration Hotel

Jan 18, 2008

Yes the hotel and town are pretty, a little plastic for my taste.
Participating in a conference meant that I cared about internet hookup, hot baths for end of the day relaxation, and my normal very early morning ritual of tea with milk.
Internet hookup- a problem from the get-go. Wireless service was one of the two amenities that was useful to me as part of the recreation fee of $12- the other was two bottles of water a day - this fee is a little over the top- I guess a way to charge more money- come on- two bottles of water for $12.00. Others in my group had similar problemswith the internet- and we were directed to a internet tech service which held me on the line for too long and then hung up and told me to call back- three times- what put me over the top was when they charged me for the calls.
For people who like a bath at the end of a long day- forget it- the Mywater is not hot enough for a bath- it is boarder-line hot enough for a shower if you you have it all the way on to hot- this is from a person who usually finds hot tubs too hot.
Don't assume you can pick up anything in town you forgot or have a craving for. There is no grocery store, or variety store, try to find something as simple as a hair brush or comb- or a container of milk - not possible. Lots of tourist type shops though.
Okay, I am doing a little venting, but come on guys, figure out the internet thing, turn up the water, and have a few of the things people might have forgotten in your storage room (they did russle up a comb after a lot of searching)
How do we save the planet if you don't give us the choice to not have the sheets changed daily....
.You are a luxury hotel, go the extra mile

“Beautiful Hotel, Great Service”

Celebration Hotel

This is a beautiful hotel with old Florida Charm. Much better value than the high end hotels on Disney Property and you are only 10 minutes from most of hte parks. Celebration has lots of fantastic restaurants right out your front door and a Starbucks. Try Sherlocks for amazing sweets and tea, Antonio's is incredible for Italian and Columbia serves typical Spanish cusisine including Cuban and Puerto Rican influences. These cultures shape much of the food in Florida, not to be missed -- treat yourself to the white Sangria,

“loved clebration hotel”

Celebration Hotel

My husband and i stayed at celebration hotel the first two weeks of December. Always wanted to stay there and completely lived up to our expectations. Upon check in we were upgraded free of charge to a water view room with a beautiful view of the lake and swimmimg pool and could sit on the balcony listening to our Bose stereo which was a lovely touch to the room. Room was clean and comfy with lovely beds, coffee maker, mini bar, A/C dressing gowns etc. The pool area was small but lovely and very quiet during our stay and we made good use of the hot tub. Parking was never a problem as other guests had commented on and we always found a space near the hotel. The lobby area is welcoming with pan piped christmas music playing in the background and an impressive christmas tree. All staff friendly and helpful . The overall ambience is very peaceful and relaxing and away from the hustle and bustle of Disney and other tourist traps. We did visit the parks and the location was very convienient being a 10-15 min drive but is was always nice to return to celebration at the end of the day. We have stayed at numerous hotels in orlando including some of the Disney resorts and this beat all of them and exceeded our expectations . If you want a hotel that has character and style but is a peaceful retreat then stay here. The hotel is located right in the town square and there are numerous restaurants, 1950's style diner, starbucks etc on the doorstep plus celebrations own cinema. The walks round the lake were beautiful and there is a jogging track or you can hire bikes to ride around exploring celebration. We loved our stay and will definately return as soon as possible!!

“A "just okay" place to stay, but not worth the price”

Celebration Hotel

I stayed at the Celebration Hotel in September 2007 for a long weekend. Overall, the place was okay. To start with the good - there were feather pillows in the room that I had requested via the hotel's website. I also asked for extra towels and those were provided as well. I was happy those items were specially provided. The bed was comfy and the room was very clean with nice amenities, like good coffee and tasteful decor.

On the other hand, I was very disappointed by the whirlpool and pool area. The whirlpool had dead bugs floating with sand/gravel at the bottom. It looked like it had not been maintained for months. Additionally, the pool area did not allow any beverages or food, so I am not sure what all the tables were for? The main pool was nice and clean.

The lobby of the hotel is attractive in a Key West-meets-Out of Africa way that I suspect many will find interesting to look at. The only problem with the lobby is the overly aggressive faux gardenia air freshener that is piped in. If you have allergies - stay out of the main lobby, it's quite over done. Additionally, the lobby and pool areas have "jazz" versions of popular Disney songs playing and it is a bit annoying...unless you are a fan of Muzak.

I also dined at the Plantation Restaurant in the hotel. The sea scallop dinner with pasta was $30.00 and the scallops were gritty (not washed well) and the pasta was extremely salty with a sauce that tasted like cream of mushroom soup on it...certainly not worth the amount paid. The steak I tried was over cooked, tough, and bland. Although the Plantation Restaurant only had 3 (small parties) tables to serve, the service was slow and not very attentive. I would not recommend the restaurant.

One thing to look out for the $12. per person per day room fee for newspaper, coffee, bottled water and Internet access. It's a bit steep and just charged to guests automatically.

I liked the place okay since I was not paying the guest bill for myself, however, if I were staying there *and* paying my own tab, I would be disappointed. In my opinion it is over priced and pretentious.

“Celebration Hotel”

I booked hotel through hotels.com and got room for half price (from $189 to $94.50) per night with a water view (plus $12 day resort fee, charged separately by hotel which includes wireless internet, 2 bottles water, and some golf amenity which I did not pay attention to! - sorry I'm not a golfer!). We received a corner room and was told it was larger (which it was), but it did have a major drawback - the sound of the A/C units from hotel. At first we could not figure it out until we walked outside....Because we received room at discounted rate, we did not complain. It was tolerable, but I would have not paid full price with the loud A/C. Beds were very average for a hotel of this caliper (I am very picky about beds), but there was a nice selection of pillows from feather to foam-like. Lovely lobby and nice furniture in it. Small pool and fitness center overlooks lake. Nice walking paths nearby and some good restaurants within walking distance. Extremely friendly staff and very helpful. It seemed a bit far going to the Disney parks everyday (15-20 min.), but Celebration is a cute town with cute houses (like Truman Story). Other than the noise of A/C units and the average bed, a very pleasant stay....
