“needs a little tweaking”

Inverness Hotel and Golf Club

Jun 17, 2008

This was our third conference stay at this lovely hotel and conference center. The rooms are well appointed and very clean, public areas inviting, staff very nice and the property is well kept and attractive. The gift shop was closed so my husband couldn't buy his morning paper. Staff said they have been waiting for fire department approval of renovations to the gift shop. Our luggage languished in the lobby on arrival until I called to see why there was a holdup. I also had to call again as the requested extra luggage rack never showed. All coffee served at the conference group meals was cold.
Situated in close proximity to highways, shopping and a mall, and not too far from the downtown area, I found the location to be fine.

“Perfect for visiting people in the area”

We stayed two nights while visiting friends in the area. The front desk staff, along with everyone else in the hotel, was very friendly. Upon arrival, we were offered to upgrade to the club level for an extra $25. This was well worth it because of the wine reception from 5:00 - 7:00 and the breakfast/coffee in the morning. The room and hotel were very clean.

“Stay somewhere else”

Inverness Hotel and Golf Club

Mar 22, 2008

We stayed at this hotel for two nights. The room was very small and noisy. There was a lounge on our floor but the internet was often unavailable because so many other people wanted to use it. Also the hotel has no vending machines so you have to spend extra$$ for room service or go to the bar. The staff was friendly, but the room was a big disappointment for the price. We did not sleep well and were tired for most of our trip. We will not stay here again.

“Elegant but noisy”

Inverness Hotel and Golf Club

Spent a 3-day weekend in a Club Level suite -- tasteful and elegant with stunning views of the Rockies. Customer service, from the front desk to room service to the spa, was impeccable, warm, and intuitive. Sunday brunch in the Garden Terrace is not to be missed and, as we live in the Denver area, we come here to brunch to observe special occasions. The only negatives were messy hallways (littered with kicked-aside newspapers and room service trays), and noisy kids running up and down the halls day and night, and slamming in and out of their rooms with abandon. And this is on the Club Level -- supposedly more exclusive and businesslike. At least the elevated bedroom area was set back away from the door to the hallway, or I wouldn't have gotten much sleep. Next time I will be quicker to call management -- or confront the kids directly -- although no one wants to be THAT person.

“Awesome for conferences, business meetings, golf get aways.”

The Inverness is a hotel geared for business conferences. It's not that big- 5 stories, but has a lot of conference rooms of varying size. The rooms are great, I had a wonderful King size bed that was extremely comfortable, the room was tastefully decorated, and had the extra amenities of free wireless, in room coffee pot, in room snacks, free newspaper, optional turn down service. The housekeeping was excellent, and the bath sported Aveda products. The hotel itself is great, it's set in with a full golf course in the midst of a business park area with nice walking paths. Watch yourself at night, that's when the sprinklers go off! Other than that I felt very safe walking even in the dark, and it's far enough out of Denver that it feels country. Crickets chirping, the smell of the trees, etc. The hotel offered one very nice restaurant, Baca, which had an upscale and surprising menu that featured unusual items like pheasant and bison. The hotel also had a sports bar called the "Spotted Dog" that offered pub fare and a wide variety of drinks, and the "Fireside Lounge" a quieter Martini type bar. One extremely pleasant part of the conference is that they hotel staff takes such good care of you during the day. Breakfast and lunch were held in the main restaurant, buffet style but with excellent food and options. Additionally, outside each conference room was a "break station" that was constantly stocked with coffee, tea, water, juice, soda, snacks of all types, yogurt, boiled eggs, muffins, you name it. I found that especially helpful as you could get a pick-me-up any time. This occurred daily. The staff also picked us up at the airport and dropped us off with the hotel shuttle service, and provided private parties for us in the evenings that included Texas Hold 'Em tournaments for our entire group. This is a fantastic hotel that really understands how to host groups and they went the extra mile every step of the way.
