The location in Tahoe Vista is very convenient if skiing at Northstar. Squaw and Alpine are not far. This is an above average 2* roadside motel. We had a unit in the back so roadside noise was non-existent. There was a bit of noise from neighboring units although mainly it was toilets and showers that could be heard and it was no problem. The room was very clean and consisted of two queen beds, TV, set of drawers, and a kitchen area with sink, microwave oven, refrigerator, and cupboards. The heat worked well as did the free wireless internet access. The beds were comfortable. All the rooms are non-smoking but only some of them have a view of the lake (ours didn't). The hot tub was nice after a day of skiing. Continental breakfast, which consists of pastries, orange juice, coffee, and a fruit basket, is provided daily. It was a good value at $100 (rates are very high in the area during winter weekends) and I would definitely return.

The fire lite has clean rooms with microwaves and good size fridge. Great water pressure, Clean pool and hot tub. Roadside location can be a tad noisy, but similar to many places on lake Tahoe. A good value for Tahoe.

The Firelite Lodge was located in the perfect setting. Tahoe Vista is a beautiful little town. The view was beautiful. Compared to other similiar priced locations, this view was by far the best....better than many high end hotels. We would advise anyone that is intersted in staying at a nice, clean, well located, friendly, and affordable lodge to stay at the Firelite Lodge.

I recently stayed two nights while on a ski trip. The room was very clean and in very good condition. Furnishings and the bathroom fixtures were in very good condition.

The building is three stories and there is little sound insulation so it could be noisy but the neighbors during my stay were generally quiet. The toilets are pressure flush so they are quite noisy. There is some road noise from busy North Lake Blvd. but the room I was in was facing away from the street so that was not much of an issue. Parking is a little tight but managable. Some of the upper rooms look like they have a nice view of Lake Tahoe across the street.

This is a no frills place, but it does have a small pool (our room on the first floor had a sliding glass door to the deck of the pool) and a year-round hot tub. The heater is an older design (you adjust the thermostat by turning numbered dial inside the unit). There is a limited free continental breakast served (coffee, juice, and some packaged danishes).

Housekeeping was well done.

They requested payment for my room when I checked in, which was unusual but not a problem.

If you're looking for a clean, well maintained place and don't have extravagant needs I would recommend a stay here.
