Location, location, location along with fabulously hospitalble staff &
breakfast on the veranda made for a memorable stay with our niece visiting from NY. Denise at the front desk secured dinner reservations @ I Cucina and the Pier provided the fun zone.

Historical ambiance of the Georgian was extraordinary. We will surely return. PJC

This is one of the most beautiful hotels I've ever stayed in!
Although the price is a bit high, that seems to be the case for most Santa Monica hotels. The Georgian is in a perfect location, directly across from the beach and a 5 minute walk to both the pier and the 3rd st Promenade. Our room was beautifully decorated in the art deco style and the bathroom was spacious and very clean. The staff was exceptionally friendly, from the front desk, to the valet, to the waitress at breakfast. The hotel has a great veranda where you can sit and have drinks in the evening or your breakfast in the morning. I definitely plan to stay at the Georgian again!

My husband and I stayed at The Georgian in June 2008. We had a suite-very large-extremely comfortable bed-couches and chairs all around-great bathroom-great tvs-quiet!
They are right across the street from the beach and short walk to the pier and Third Street Promenade. We rented bikes one day and rode around Venice beach. We loved this hotel. Lots of history-valet were wonderful-breakfast on the veranda was wonderful-staff were exceptional. Always smiling and full of information. We even gave one of the staff tickets we had to Universal Studios because he was so friendly. Rates were decent too!

Our stay at The Georgian was a perfect way to end our two week California vacation! The Ocean View Suite was perfect for our family of four, and the location in Santa Monica can't be beat. The beach and pier are across the street, and the 3rd Street Promenade is just behind the hotel. Access to I-10 is just a few blocks away.

Having an ocean front room not only affords you nice views but has the additional bonus of nice breezes during the evening and night. The downside is that there is quite a bit of street noise on Ocean Avenue.

The front desk (Gene was great!), bellhop and restaurant service were consistently outstanding. We did have to wait quite awhile one evening for our car from valet but that was just one time. Free wifi access was nice and a must for me.

In looking for quibs and complaints, I'd say the presence of a minibar (why do hotels still have these?) instead of a usable refrigerator is one. And although the housekeeping staff deliver a bucket of ice, there is no ice machine accessible to guests if you want more. Also, there was no laundry by the load option, and the suite had no clothes line. I suppose for $350+/night, they assume you will pay $$$ per item for laundry, but having the option to handwash and dry a few items would have been nice after a long trip. And again, the oceanview rooms front Ocean Avenue so people wanting quiet might want to reconsider anything with an oceanview.

Parking is definitely expensive in Santa Monica so I definitely recommend the hotel's packages that include the in/out valet parking. Breakfast on the veranda each morning was a bit chilly during our cooler-than-usual weather stay but was nice nevertheless.

Overall, The Georgian was a great way to end our California holiday!
