Service was impeccable. Atmosphere was relaxing. Rooms were okay.

Spent the weekend at the resort and felt like a star. They give you the best treatment, but you pay for it!

Free wine tasting was fun, but the guy running the show was a little snobbish.

Would defeinitely go back if the pocket book could afford it.

went for one night....it was perfect. Great service. The hotel was 89 percent full this weekend and we had the pool to ourselves at night. Also hand dipped chocolate strawberries instead of the usual small chocolate on you pillow at turndown. Wonderful!!!

“Two Thumbs Up - Impeccable Service”

As someone who often stays at the country's top luxury resorts, I found my experience at the Bacara on memorial day weekend to be impeccable. The service was incredible - the staff went out of their way to help us. The concierge gave great restaurant recommendations & made the reservations for us. They also helped us plan trips outside of the resort to the local wineries & sailing. Everyone from the bellboys to the maid were extremely friendly. Maid service was excellent, & they have you choose which time you would like your room cleaned when you check in. The beds are extremely comfortable & the rooms are well decorated.

Although they claimed the resort was at full capacity, it did not feel crowded at all due to the well-planned layout of the resort. The beach is beautiful, albeit rugged, and we never had a problem getting a seat at the pool. The spa was empty, my partner & I were the only guests in two of the exercise classes there. You do have to walk a little bit to get from building to building, but it is not long & makes the resort seem that much more spacious (i guarantee the reviewers complaining are overweight).

Lastly, this is a perfect resort for a gathering of friends or family- there are numerous comfortable gathering areas outside & inside overlooking the ocean. I highly rec. this resort to anyone looking for first class service.

“Great Experience”

Bacara Resort and Spa

I am very surprised by the negative reviews about this resort. My best friend and I just returned from a three-day girls' weekend there and had a fabulous experience. It is pricey, no doubt about it, but we felt pampered and catered to the entire time, from the bellmen to the spa employees to the restaurant staff. We never had to wait for a cart or for assistance at any time. The pools and grounds are beautiful and there was no sulfur smell anywhere. The spa is top-notch. The food at all three restaurants was absolutely delicious. We can't wait for an opportunity to go back again!!

“Snobs, No service and sulfer smell”

This place must really struggle to earn its 4 star rating. The Miro restaurant is really top notch but thats about all this hotel has going for it. Room service took 2 hours and then was cold and horrible. Maid service didn't happen until nearly 5 pm. People loiter for tips and do little to deserve them. Its obvious that this hotel is run by college kids with little professional training. The beach is covered with tar and rocks. The pool and spa are great but it smells like sulfer outside on any given day for some reason. I have a friend who was planning a super fancy and pricey wedding there and she was very troubled by the lack of customer service. The wedding director of the hotel just up and quit or was fired only one week before her wedding! It was a disaster and no one even bothered to tell her. She just called and called with no retruned messages until finally someone told her what was going on only days before her wedding. For more than $100,000 you expect more than that. Dont have your wedding at Bacara! At my own bridal shower the staff Promised me there would be golf carts to transport my guests and elderly grandmother to the bistro for the shower. Everyone waited for 1 hour to be transported and my 85 year old grandma had to walk all the way to the bistro herself. I was furious! I paid nearly $3500 for this lunch and it was a disaster. To top it off they spelled my name wrong on the menu. Nothing was right. Avoid Bacara!
