October 6, 2007: This was our second visit to Go Fish; the first was in mid-2006. We just "dropped in" for lunch on a Saturday, since traffic into St. Helena was so rotten that we were late for another reservation. Turns out this was a good thing, as our lunch was very satisfying. We were greeted as warmly as anyone with a reservation, a good attitude in any restaurant.
The decor in general seems less bright and garish during the day than at night (our first visit was after dark, for dinner). We find it a very relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. This was inside the restaurant; we have not yet tested the outside patio. Some people do not like the cushions in the "booths" -- we found it quite comfortable unless you have a larger party and folks are jumping up and down from the table.
Service: very good, despite the busy lunch hour on a weekend.
Food: everything was first-rate. Couple of new dishes and some older; we tried a bit of both. We did not try sushi. We did try, and enjoyed: tempura vegetables, calamari sturgeon salad and one or two other small plates.
Value: moderate; but in the context of Napa Valley, competitive for the setting and quality. The raw bar selections seem to be way too dear for a restaurant advertising seafood.
We visit the area regularly and will definitely return.
