When in Long Beach, we stay at the Hyatt. I've attended functions here and always find it to be nice. The rooms have a great view facing the ocean. They are clean and good sized. I really like it at the Hyatt.

“Excellent location”

We had a great 7 night stay at this hotel. Location is excellent, being right on the marina, with views across to the Queen Mary. Yes it is a busy conference venue, hardly surprising as it is right next to the convention centre, but that has pro's as well as con's. On the positive side, pool area was largely free during the day - great for relaxing after returning to the hotel from a morning exploring the wonderful places along the coast. Noting other people's comments about pool side service, there is a pool side telephone from which you can order drinks etc. We used this facility although still took some time for service to arrive on occasion. Downside, the bar area was very busy (& noisy!) late afternoon / early evening with conference attendees and often struggled to find a table. There is so much to do & see both locally and further down the coast however that this was but a minor point. Reception & concierge staff were excellent. We used the concierge facility to book Champagne Sunday Brunch on the Queen Mary - very easy & the experience was excellent, a real holiday memory to take back with us. Would we go back? Yes definitely as the location couldn't have been better!

“A Very Nice Hotel in an Excellent Location”

Hyatt Regency Long Beach

Dec 8, 2007

The Hyatt Regency is in an excellent location in Long Beach. It is directly connected to the restaurant areas on the waterfront and next to Pine Street, an active night area. It is also connected to the Convention Center. The beach and other activities are nearby.

The room was nice but not the best I've stayed in. The room was small and poorly lit. The TV was small and appeared to have only the Disney channel as a premium channel. Paper cups were used in the bathroom. Interet access was $9.95. The bed was also not particularly comfortable. However, the room was very clean.

I mostly had food prepared by the hotel for the meeting but it was extremely good and far above the standard meeting fare. The room service dinner I ordered was delivered promptly and was very good as well.

The staff seemed quite eager to please, something I see often at Hyatt hotels. A helpful staff can make all the difference.

“Nice establishment”

I stayed here over the weekend for one night with my husband. We made a short trip on the blue line from downtown LA for a social event. We booked the Hyatt being that it was a 5 minute walk from the station, steps from our destination, and was reasonably priced ($112/night for AAA members).

It also happened to be our anniversary, and the front desk (Erin) was thoughtful enough to acknowledge our special day and provided a complimentary upgrade us to an executive suite with a king bed on the 9th floor. The suite was clean, spacious, and tastefully decorated. It overlooked Rainbow Harbor and the Queen Mary-a spectacular view!

We ordered some appetizers through room service before heading out to dinner, and found the food to be average at best. We made dinner reservations at a very classy, high-end restaurant called 555 East Steakhouse (also in walking distance), and would highly recommend this restaurant!

The Hyatt is not by any means fancy. It is comfortable, and every employee encountered was extremely friendly. The hotel is located within the epicenter of the harbor and downtown Long Beach, and is very close to the aqua bus water taxi. The area is relatively safe and is surrounded by a plethora of great restaurants and interesting places.

We disembarked from our flight from the UK and stayed for two nights in this hotel.
The room, service and hotel atmosphere were excellent.
Only bad point was when we arrived WE moved our bags to reception, (we should have split up and gone to reception to arrange uplifting of the four cases)
