“The worst hotel in Lancaster”

Best Western Antelope Valley Inn

Jun 8, 2006
2/4 found this review helpful

I travel frequently on business and have stayed at this hotel many of times. I complained to my boss numerous times to no avail. He thought that I was just complaining to be complaining.

The last time I stayed at the hotel, my boss picked me up and we ended up taking my car and leaving his truck there. His truck was broken into and he had to replace the glass in one of his windows.

The staff there basically ignored and treated us badly. Needless to say, I now stay next door at the Inn of Lancaster instead. They have around the clock security and a better open area for your vehicles.

Some of the other complaints from staying there numerous times.

No heater
Put me into a room that ranked of animal excrement - almost had an asthma attack on that one
I would reserve room in advance for a king, smoking room, get there and they didn't have it. (many many times)
Brown rust colored water coming out of the faucets
air conditioning not working
No ashtrays in the smoking rooms
People standing at the counter, 3 employees behind desk and only 1 of the employees waiting on people.
dinky little rooms that were dirty, no towels sometimes
Toilet seats didn't stay up
Leaky faucets

I have stayed at other Bestwestern hotels and have been very pleased. Does anybody know how to contact Bestwestern and let them know that they are giving this chain a bad name?

“Last minute travel”

Best Western Antelope Valley Inn

Mar 20, 2006

If our looking for a nice place to stay when your in Lancaster, this is the place to stay. Service is great; everyone went out of their way to accommodate my needs. Never having been to this part of California before I was unsure how to get around and I was in a big hurry. The girls at the front desk couldn't have been more friendly or helpful, they started pulling out maps and showing me how to get around. With a hot breakfast and lots of smiles from the waitress, the maids and a maintenance man who even took the time to greet me good morning I was on my way. Thanks again Best Western, lancaster for making my last minute trip a little better.

“what great changes”

Best Western Antelope Valley Inn

Feb 18, 2006

What great changes going on at this hotel. I was very surprised at how much work they have done on upgradeing this older hotel. The staff was great, very friendly and helpful. all the remodeling makes this look like a different hotel. The lounge turned out great, they even have live bands. keep up the good work we'll be back again soon. If you have not been to this hotel in a while you need to go back when in the area to see all the great changes

“Not bad for business travel”

Best Western Antelope Valley Inn

3 of 5 stars
Rancho Cucamonga, CA
Jul 20, 2005

I stayed here on business on four separate occasions during June and July 2005, and found it to be more than adequate for a short business stay. The staff was always accomodating in terms of my room requests. Lancaster is not exactly a "garden spot" so I didn't expect a resort and was not put off by the dismal location on Sierra Highway. The rooms were a little worn and dark, but the two double beds were comfortable and the A/C and refrigerator worked fine. The shower pressure was surprisingly robust, and the TV featured extended cable. I didn't like the looks of the restaurant (or its staff) and so passed on the free breakfast. The lobby was being remodeled on my last stay, but was far enough away from the guest rooms for noise and dust not to have been a problem. It's not what I'd call expensive, but is a little pricy given the location and quality of accomodations.

“Worst place I have ever stayed”

Best Western Antelope Valley Inn

Jul 4, 2005
3/4 found this review helpful

This is about the worst hotel I have EVER stayed in. Our softball team had 15 reserved rooms and every person had a complaint. The following are a FEW of the comments:

Hair in my bath tub
Hair on fork at breakfast
mold in outdoor hot tub
dirty pool
some phones did not work
breakfast delay of up to 1 hour because there was one waitress for 5 teams registered
a "non-smoking" room had odor of smoke and an ashtray
brown water coming out of bathroom sink
wait time of 15 minutes to check out when second in line and 3 staff behind the counter
several rooms occupied upon entry
no housekeeping service one day
air conditioning didn't work one night
