When we stayed at this property as a family, we had a nice experience. It is clean, safe, well-lit and a reasonable value for the money. We would have no qualms about returning again (AS A FAMILY); however all things being equal, the Doubletree LAX just off Sepulveda is a MUCH better value and a nicer property, if it's available.
This being said, my wife had to go to California alone for a one-day trip, and booked a room at this property. When she got there (about 11:30 PM), the desk clerk told her that the parking lot was full and that she would have to park at a remote lot several blocks away and walk back.
La Cienega is not the safest street under the best of circumstances - and she did not feel okay about being a woman alone walking several blocks up La Cienega Blvd. at that time of night. She mentioned our Diamond Status, and was able to convince an employee to move HIS car to the remote lot, and park in his spot.
However, I believe that had she not been so tenacious, and a Diamond member, they would have just allowed such an egreious breach of safety to occur. This is something that will forever give me pause when booking this property. However, I could find no other fault.

Booked this hotel based on reviews. Excellent service and service. Crib, in good condition, was in the room before we checked in. It was very thoughtful because we arrived at midnight. Breakfast varity was ok but display was nice. Nice and clean in verywhere. It was a little bit noisy but who cares if you only stay overnight. Will stay there again.

We stayed here our last night in the LA/San Diego area. We had to call the hotel to get the shuttle to pick us up because they had stopped running for the night. We waited for about 30 minutes. We got to the hotel and checked in. The lobby was very clean and beautiful. We stayed in a king room. It was a good size room. The bed was very comfortable.
I went to the restroom late that night and the toilet started overflowing. My husband looked for the water cut off value, but they had taken it off. Water covered the bathroom floor and started coming into the bedroom before maintance got there to check everything out.
They moved us to another room, but it was a single double bed. We changed rooms again around 12:30 a.m. It was great. We ate the breakfast the next morning. They had some of the best doughnuts I have ever tasted. There aren't any restaurants around the hotel, so eat before you get there. The hotel is great for the value. I will probably stay here again if I come to the area. We just had some bad luck.

Exceptional customer service, clean, free parking, everything you expect from Hampton Inns - no sacrifice of quality even though 2 miles from LAX, unlike other major hotels I have stayed at - a real gem at a great price. Shuttle took us to restaurants, rental car drop off office and airport. I have found a new home when in LAX area.
