“Scary”

You never would know how scary this hotel is if you look at their website which appeared to be lovely. When we went to our room, it was so bad we asked for another, but it too was disgusting so we left after paying a 10.00 cancellation fee (worth it just to leave!) to find ANYWHERE else and ended up at a Howard johnsons and had a nice clean room, just no pool, but you wouldnt want to get in theirs!
If I would have checked this website, i would have steered clear. I won't make that mistake again!

“So-so”

The hotel is located right on the beach, but it's quite run down. The area was so-so and it was relatively safe, but I wouldn't say it was in a high class area. The room we had was beachside view, and wasn't the cleanest and it was quite old. The main problem was that the room was full of flies, as well as the front desk. But I suppose that is expected if you are right on the beach. The people working, were quite friendly though. I won't stay again, although I have nothing too terrible to say about it. I probably wouldn't stay in Imperial Beach, just wasn't for me.

“Location great, hotel not”

The beach is right out the door which is a good thing because you're going to want to get out of the room as soon as you can. Marine weather means any building (like any boat) needs a fresh coat of paint every few years. These guys forgot.
The inside isn't much better. Old cheap furniture and linoleum. On the upside, the staff is friendly and tries to be helpful. Frankly, the place reflects much of the downscale Imperial Beach ambience. If you want nicer, go north along the coast.

“The only thing going for it is the location”

The beach access was amazing, right out the door. The rooms were very clean and the staff was friendly but that was it.
Only one of the three locks on our door worked. The dead bolt had the rest of the door jam removed around it and the latch at the top of the door was held on with a piece of tape.
Our ocean view room had a view of the parking lot from the beds. There was an amazing ocean view from the TV room.

The was no hot water at night and there was a huge peeling patch of paint coming off the bathroom wall.
There also was not functioning heat or air conditioning.
Anything metal was rusted ie the refridgerator.
Also, we stayed when there were pretty severe storms and the sliding glass door leaked letting water in on the carpet. My nose ran the whole time we stayed there.
Also ther extra lock on the sliding glass door was a piece of wood wedged in the window track to keep it from opening.

If all you are looking for is a place to store your stuff right on the beach, then I can reccomend it, otherwise, stay away.

Through Cheaptickets.com,I've got a room for three nights, three guests, ocean view,WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE for my father's 93rd birthday. And guess what,we got a room on the second floor because SOMEONE called to cancel the reservation,so no rooms on the first floor are available, and the man said the price was the same either first or second floor(Do you believe that? Not to mention that this was my fourth time.)A guy from the room across from the counter Kindly walked us to a filthy room on the first floor with only one bed, telling us that the room on the second floor has one bed as well.We went up and found two beds instead.I really have no idea what he was up to! I carefully observed for three nights and found that there did have some rooms available.
