This place is fantastic. The location is great for being able to see the countryside. A car is a necessity.

The rooms:
Very clean and well kept, full private bathroom, air con, wall safe, very comforatble and clean beds. Also they provide a sitting area outside of the bedroom so you don't feel claustraphobic. Hotel quality rooms

The staff:
Very considerate, and skilled. They have the perfect balance of never being intrusive, but always being there making sure you are enjoying yourself. They provide you with excellent local recommendations for restaurants, taxi's, etc. The food preparation was restaurant quality, and the cleanliness is of the highest standard.

The location:
Close enough to the airport to be a quick, fairly cheap trip. Far enough away so that you don't feel like you are too close to the 'big city life'. The Crib House itself can be very difficult to find so when speaking to the Crib staff get directions and a phone number for the taxi driver just in case. The Crib house itself is very nice and has a pool and private bar area. Best to rent a car from this location but walking into Cabarete is very enjoyable. This also felt like a very 'safe' area to visit.

I only was able to stay a few days as I wasn't sure if this place or the DR could live up to the reviews, but by my last night I was fighting the urge to extend my visit and try to change my ticket. I will definately be back with friends, and can't think of anywhere else in the DR to stay.

The time that I spent at the Caribbean Crib was like a dream come true. Mark, Sharyn, Patrick and Stephanie are some of the greatest people that anyone could hope to know and hanging out with them for a week is like an adventure in and of itself.

The house was comfortable, cozy and immaculate.
The location could not be more perfect in that it is a private, beach front property with resort like ammenities (swimming pool, bar, outdoor pool table, etc.) which is located close enough to town that we frequently took our morning walks on the beach to breakfast in Cabarete.

The best part about booking your vacation at the Caribbean Crib is that Mark and Sharyn will do everything they can to make your vacation be exactly what YOU want it to be. There are so many activities you can do, places to go, and things to see that a week is hardly enough time. In fact, I found myself planning my next visit before I even left!

My last prop for the Carribean Crib is actually derived from a conversation I overheard on the airplane trip back from the DR. There were several couples, some with kids, that were coming off a week at one of the big resorts in Punta Cana and they had nothing but horrible things to say about their vacation to the DR and how they'd never go back. All I could think of was what a shame! It sounded like they were vacationing in another world compared to the place that I was just returning from and I couldn't help thinking about what Robert Frost once wrote: "Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-- I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference." I believe that this was very much the case here and could be for anyone considering a trip to the wonderful Dominican Repbulic.

Caribean crib! A real hoot. I rank it in the top 5 trips I've taken. Lots of laughs with a down home crew. Personalized attention and wonderful home cooking. Will definitly return.

We had an awesome time at the Caribbean Crib Guest House. There were six of us there and we had a blast. Sharyn and Mark, the owners, were great. They took us to places off the beaten path. Not your typical tourist places. The Castle Club was a once in a life time dining experience. We highly recomment. Patrick made great meals and Stephanie was awesome. We will be repeat visitors. Going back April 24 for another week of fun in the sun.
