“Lot's of space - not much of a view ...”

Sunterra Scottsdale Links Resort

We stayed for one night at the Scottsdale Links Resort on 26th April 2007. We had a two bed, two bath apartment which came complete with a kitchen, living room, dining area and balcony.

The apartment was great – but on the 3rd floor – and no lifts to get you luggage to the room.

There was no view from the apartment as the golf course was being ‘ripped up’ – this wasn’t too much of a problem to us as we were only staying one night – but I’d make sure you check your view if your planning on a longer stay.

There are no restaurant / bar facilities at the resort.

The apartment was good value and we would stay again.

I stayed in a two-bedroom/two bath unit at this timeshare property for seven days and had an excellent experience. The property was clean and well maintained and the furnishings were very nice.

The king-sized bed in the master bedroom was a little soft for my taste, but comfortable (I didn't have any back problems after sleeping on it) and the spacious bathroom contained a very large bathtub (with showerhead) This bedroom had a large walk-in closet with a digital safe and luggage stand, a television in a wardrobe, two nightstands with lamps on top and a telephone. Everything was in working order and clean.

The second bedroom was smaller than the master and comprised of a firmer (very comfortable) queen-sized bed, a bureau of drawers and two night stands with lamps upon each and a regular closet that was spacious, nevertheless. The second bathroom which was outside of the bedroom was also smaller than the master bath but still spacious with a standard sized bathtub (with showerhead).

There was a separate dining area off of the kitchen that seated six and a lovely balcony with nice rattan furniture (no plastic furniture here).

The kitchen was appropriately stocked and was separated by a kitchen counter/breakfast bar (seated two on provided bar stools).

There was also a full washer and dryer that came in handy and this unit also contained beach towels which was so thoughtful and convenient for the pool.

The condo was tastefully decorated with very nice accessories in the Southwestern motif. This accommodation surpasses a hotel room any day.

The staff was very friendly, professional and efficient.

The only deficiencies that I observed were the following:

The one pool (not heated) on the property needed to be skimmed more frequently throughout the day because floating flowers and other debris landed in there regularly.

The feather pillows needed a thicker cover because a quill would ocassionally poke me in the face as I repositioned myself on the bed and ithat always startled me awake.

Lastly, I think that the condos should be cleaned more frequently than once per week while a family is in residence because the bathroom floors need more attention than twice per week (once during the family stay and directly following the family's departure).

Outside of those three issues, I highly recommend this establishment
which is not on the main drag, but close enough to everything--the major highways, shopping, restaurants, entertainment, etc. It's quiet
and a wonderful retreat after a long day. Please remember that a rental car is mandatory in Scottsdale, it's not optional, so if you don't want to rent a car and you do want to get out and about and see
things, don't bother staying here because taxis are cost-prohibitive.

“Scottsdale Links”

We stayed at Scottsdale Links for 5 nights in April, 2007. The two bedroom villa was extremely spacious and clean. However, for a 5 night stay, the room was only cleaned once which left us going to the lobby everyday for towels. The room itself was about the only good thing. The pool was extremely small and most of it is in the shade, so you had to move chairs out of the area into the sun. The computer access was always taken by teenagers on AOL. There was no time limit and was not monitored. During the particular week we were there, there was always small children playing in the parking lot by the lobby unsupervised even though the rules indicate under 14 need to be with parent. Grounds crew started blowing the parking lot at 6 am. I would not stay here again due to all of the noise and small pool. For the amount of rooms there is there should be another pool. Most of the other resorts in the area have large 2-3 pools. So most of our time was spent away from the resort.

“Comfortable,Friendly Staff”

We traded our timeshare week at South Padre Island for a week at SLR. We attended spring training games and didn't spend a lot of time at the resort. We had guests for a couple of days, and it was very comfortable. It's not luxurious, but served our purpose very well. The staff was very friendly and helpful. If you check in on Friday, you may have to wait awhile. It was probably around 6:30 before room was ready. Pool is small, but was not relevant to us. Not noisy, planes didn't bother us at all. We would stay here again. Try Los Olivas restaurant, it's very close and quite good.

“Lots of room”

Our family of 6 adults just returned from a 6 night stay at the Scottsdale Links Resort. We stayed in a three bedroom. All rooms were very spacious although the living room was a bit small for six of us. The units were very nicely decorated and clean. Most units will not have views of anything more than the parking lot or central small green area.

The staff was great and although this is a timeshare the concierge desk was not pushy about signing up for the sales pitch. We did go to the timeshare session and although we did not buy we found it very interesting. The other Sunterra property - the Villa Mirage - where it was held was very nice.

There is a computer in the check-in area with free web access for guests and there is wireless access there too that I think is free. Wireless access in units is not free.

The resort is not within walking distance of anything - you have to drive for anything you want.

For a large group this place is great and the rates are about the same as a high end hotel room would be. Watch for special rates on the Sunterra web site.
