“Nice hotel, not so good location. Ask for the new rooms.”

NH City Hotel

Bottom line is that the hotel is nice and good value for its price. The location is not so good since it's in the business and government area, so at night it's a little dark and lonely, which makes it a bit uncomfortable.
We had some problems during check-in, but they were solved by one of the managers, Luciano, which deserves only good words for his dedication and professionalism. The other members of the staff still have some learning to do.
The hotel has two parts, the newest one, in which we stayed, is very nice and modern. Great breakfast and nice rooms. Can't give an opinion about the older part.
Would probably go back to this hotel, altough I'd check other options first, mainly because of the area.

“Nice, modern hotel in a convenient location”

I booked a two-night stay at the NH City from the hotel's website.

Upon arrival I was pleasantly surprised. They had a sign offering upgrades for modest fees. I inquired about the offer and the person at the front desk offered to upgrade me to a suite at no charge.

I used the concierge a number of times and their English was excellent. They researched restaurants for me and provided directions.

The rooms were modern, clean and well appointed. While there is no wireless internet, high speed wired connections are available. Both the bedroom and living room had flat screen TVs. The bed was comfortable and wake-up calls prompt. Note that the bathroom really isn't a separate room per se, but more of an adjacent space.

The shower was half open to the bathroom area, which i've noticed to be relatively common in many modern european and s american hotels.

The hotel has a small, but nice, roof-top outdoor pool and indoor fitness center, also on the top floor.

I did not eat at the hotel.

I would definitely stay here again. While this is definitely not a 5 star hotel, the value for the money is unbeatable in BA.

“This Is No Three Star Hotel”

NH City Hotel

2 of 5 stars
Miami, Florida
Dec 1, 2007

Don't be fooled by the guides...including wallpaper's and lonely planet. This is a far cry from a 3 or 4 star hotel in any city. Granted, the rooms are modern and neat and clean so that's a 2 star for me. But an ironing board would have been softer than the mattress. And the staff is friendly but indifferent. The final straw for the stay was the fact that the hotel allowed a wedding to be booked in the adjoining tower. The loud, pounding disco music STARTED at 2 am, and banged on the walls and the streets until 630 am. I know this is BA the City that doesn't sleep, but your hotel shouldn't adopt this philosphy! I'd stay out of the Micocentro area altogether if you can help it, and pick one of the other more interesting barios.

“Enjoying the NY City Buenos Aires”

NH City Hotel

I am at this hotel right now and decided to post a review. My company had booked this hotel (in the towers) so I didn't have a choice in the matter. However, I got nervous after reading some of the negative reviews. Now, I've been here for two days and am quite satisfied. The rooms is gorgeous. Service, outstanding and location fine for a business traveller.

Last night I walked to an Italian restaurant called D'Oro and had beef ravioli with mushroom sauce and 2 glasses of wine for less than $20. Afterwards, I walked through a small plaza where people sold some junkie touristy knick-knacks and where I purchased a bunch of fresh cut flowers for about $3.50. There was a newstand open so I purchased some post cards. MANY of the little cafeterias that serve coffee and desert were open until about 10 p.m. I think that if you are in your 20s looking to "club it" all night, perhaps this area wouldn't be your "cup of tea." But for a grown up, I think its perfect.

During the day I walked around the neighborhood looking at some of the beautiful architecture, walked in a little antiques mall and enjoyed the fresh air.

Anyway, I recommend this hotel, the area, and the experience. Fantastic!

“Lovely Rooms”

NH City Hotel

The rooms are really nice (and I am used to luxury). It was my second time to BA and was before at the Intercontinental and the Hilton. I think I like this place the combination of nice rooms and good location. If you are into architecture, the Hilton is spectacular, but double the price. At NH city hotel the main city square was just a few feet away. What a unique experience it was to lounge around the pool and see the 31st anniversary protest of the military coup in the square. Plaza de Mayo is truly a living and dynamic space in BA. There are peacful protests at least a couple times a week. The hotel is centrally located within walking distance to the beautiful but crumbling historic district – San Telmo. A couple of things I would improve upon are the fact that there is no dedicated concierge. Also, for god's sake get some proper wine at the bar. This is Argentina! There are only thousands to choose from. I was in room 1019 and it was quite good. But, don't try to get an iron delivered - it took two days for them to do it. Also, my partner said the massage she got was quite awful. It's quite good for a business traveler. The lobby is a good meeting place.
