Prepaid on paypal 120 for a deluxe suite. Hotel had tons of vacancy and pricing at the hotel showed only 90 for the same room but not going to press the issue.

Room overlooks the square, at night does have noise but dies down about 10. Also early am the whole town gets woken by church bells and songs (in case u can sleep in). Clean, big room with porch and jacuzzi. Hot water was available but took about half hour to fill the tub and was lukewarm than hot.
Heater was not working but kindly was brought a plug in.

Staff is very pleasant and is there when you arrive at the train. Overall staff very polite, helpful and well mannered.
You walk into town center (3 mins) through the market.
We also hiked up Putukusi and did the Mandor waterfall. The hotel has a local map with directions on walking tours. Buy your MP ticket 1 block from the hotel and the bus ticket near the bus stop 2 blocks from hotel. Eat at Indio Feliz for dinner and Totos for lunch buffet (a bit $$$).

We got the junior suites, so I can't speak to the quality of the other rooms, but we loved this place. Great location and beautiful grounds. Unfortunately, you have to walk up four flights of stairs, and the check-out time is a bit early at 9 am.

My friend booked queen suites at Gringo Bills for us by calling directly. We paid $70 in May, the same rooms go for $120 in June, July and August. We had nothing coming out of the hot water for a couple of hours around 5-6pm when everyone comes back from Machu Picchu. Otherwise, it was great, we had a nice balcony and the rooms, although not luxurious, were roomy and attractive. We were several flights up, no elevator, but we didn't mind. A nice breakfast buffet with fruit and eggs to order is included. Staff is pleasant, some don't speak English. Beds are comfortable, you may want to wear bug spray as there are a few flying insects if you leave your balcony open. We would stay again. We planned to return to Machu Picchu the next morning but were able to see enough the first day ( we arrived from Ollantaytambo early and had 7 hours in the park, so we explored the town the next day. We ate dinner at the best restaurant in town, Indio Feliz, prices are reasonable.

Gringo Bills was much better than I expected. The room was clean and comfortable with plenty of hot water. The staff extemely helpful and friendly. They met us at the train to help with the luggage and show us to the hotel. I would definitely stay there again.

Gringo Bills offered charming hospitality. We got off the train and there was somebody to take our bags while we headed off to Machu Picchu. Upon returning, we were very pleased with the hostal, having splurged for the $70 room with a Jacuzzi - what better way to relax after a day of hiking to the Sun Gate and around the ruins? In the morning, we stored our belongings -- after returning we changed our clothes and Gringo Bills staff again helped us return to the train.

In many ways, this was the best place we stayed in Peru. A great shower, clean, and a good atmosphere.
