I and my daughters stayed at the Allson Genesis hotel in Kuala Lumpur, and having found it on the net, thought it looked 'pretty good', with a pretty good price as well. We chose the Business suite as it also advertised having a kitchenette. I phoned the hotel to book, and they didnt quote me the prices we had found on the internet, so I had an arguement there already. However, we came to an agreement. Finally when we got to the hotel, we were shown to a room which was obviously not the one we had booked. I rang reception, only to be confronted with staff whose english was minimal, although this hotel classifies itself as 'business class'. Finally I was informed that my original room would be ready that afternoon, which it was. The kitchen had a fridge, microwave, and jug, but no plates, glasses, nothing. I also found the information provided by the hotel about Kuala Lumpur to be minimal, and the 'included in the price' breakfast was inedible. Any discovery we made in the area we made ourselves, including bhuket bintang plaza up the road where we had most of our meals. For good points the hotel was clean, with our room being serviced daily by friendly staff. I would say that the reception staff werent overly friendly however. Also, we as a woman and two young girls were told we were not welcome to enter the spa pool either, as it would be 'inappropriate'. However, after ten days there, we got used to the place, but word of warning, dont use their phone too often they charge like wounded bulls, and dont use the hotel cafe, as its much cheaper and nicer up the road at the plaza. Next time we will be staying elsewhere.
