“Luxury and high standard of service, this is another gorgeous place from HYATT.”

but they made us walk like crazy !

This HYATT REGENCY has everything you may expect from HYATT.
It is brand new, run by a team of top serviceable and ultra-polite staff, it is gorgeous in classy chic contemporary design and room equipped with latest high-tech amenities.

A few tips :
1 – Being situated at about 2 km east of the station, right next door to UNESCO heritage Sanjusangen-do, it takes half an hour to walk back there. There is no shuttle service, but one complimentary taxi ride from the station to all guests with a valid reservation, provided they use the “MK taxi” company. This ride usually costs about 700 yens. The nearest subway station is on the way to the station, about 10 minutes, by the river. This line goes north-south, to the city centre. There is also a bus stop, right in front of the hotel, and 2 lines go straight to the station from here.

2 – There are few dining/entertainment options in the area, but 2 convenient stores are close by.

3 – in room LAN connection internet is charged 1500 per 24h, while it is free to browse wifi, if you bring your own to the lobby.

One last thing, but it only applied to us (!) ; we had a room at the far-far-far-far … far end of the annex building so (listen well) from the lobby, we took a lift to 2nd floor, where we strolled down a long long long … long corridor (30, 40 m ?), then we turned left, then we turned right, then took another lift (no, really !) to 3rd floor where our room was. Ppff!!! Any trip is at least 10 minutes from the door of our room to the street.

Now, at 22000, it was not so so expensive to euro carriers like us. But the area is a bit of a sorrow when the evening comes in. If we were to come back here, we’d move closer to the station where people seemed to live, round the clock.

“Amazing Service”

Hyatt Regency Kyoto

I was so impressed by the quality of service rendered by this hotel. The staff are so well trained, speak pretty good English for Kyoto standard and are very helpful. That really made our stay there so comfortable and pleasant. The concierge is so helpful and patient, whenever you ask for a location, they will search from the internet and print out the detailed map for you, and they don't mind you taking up their time at all. When I asked where I could use the internet service, they provide me with a Laptop to be used at the longe, can u believe that!

Apart from the excellent service, it's also a very tastefully designed and decorated hotel. I can't really find fault with this property.
Location is not bad too, bus station is just a few steps away. And one of the world heritage sites, Sanjusan temple, is located just next to the hotel.

By far this is the hotel with the best service that I have encountered. They render extend their service with sincerity so it's quite different from those which deliver out of requirement.

“Good Choice, Nice Room, Great Starting Point for Temples”

Hyatt Regency Kyoto

Clean, modern Asian design in the public areas make this a peaceful choice for Kyoto. Guestrooms are small, have tiny windows and look better on the Website than in person--and the beds are very hard (even for Japan standards).

The staff is friendly, but I knew more about Kyoto than the concierge. The food is good and the atmosphere very pleasing, but the prices are very hight for Kyoto.

Location is isolated, but a great location to start your temple walk and has easy tourist bus access and the subway is a 5 block walk away.

It's not the greatest hotel in Japan, but a very good one for Kytoto.

“Love it, Great hotel and Service - Perfect Hotel in Kyoto”

Hyatt Regency Kyoto

We stay at Hyatt Regency at the end of December 2007 for 3 night, We booked the Deluxe room with view in the private garden with the waterfall. The hotel was fantastic, service was great, bar inside was really nice. Room was big, really nice bathroom with japanese tub and wet room.... Exchange rate was great for us in UK and room was around £120 a night which is bargain considering what you are getting for. Every details in the room was great, sublime decor. Would recommend to anyone going to visit Kyoto. Place is not central but actually perfectly place to visit the east of town which is the most interesting part of Kyoto. You can walk nearly everywhere....

“Beautiful Hotel in a Beauitufl City”

Hyatt Regency Kyoto

4 of 5 stars
New York

Hyatt Regency Kyoto is truly beautiful. The lobby, the bar, the garden are all exquisite. The room we had was a bit small, but elegantly designed. The only drawback of the hotel is its location. The closest public transport is the bus. You can walk a few more blocks to take the train, but it doesn't connect you to the subway. Having said that, it is a minor inconvenience. I'd be gladly to stay there again.

If you go to Kyoto, in addition to all the commonly recommended sites, do visit the ramen alley at the Kyoto train station. It is both yummy and fun.
