Sanduny Sauna is one of the oldest and the most famous in Russia, with history going back to 1896 or so. This is very fine, but the problem is that the place has received no maintenance in years. I have visited several times over the years, always disappointed with how dilapidated it was, but took a friend there today because of all the history. The only change I saw, compared to my visit a few years ago was more rust, more cracks, and a dirtier floor. The pool is kept too cold to get into, in order to prevent people from using it and save on maintenance. What a mess, never again.
