Well when I say rough start...it was really a rough start! I booked the room for an overnight stay through the hotel website since the hotel reservations office said they were fully booked. But when I checked the website, it offered me several options and rooms to choose from. Anyway I was able to reserve and get a confrimation number. However when I was checking in they informed me that my confrimation number was not on the system and that they are fully booked. Anyway to cut the long story stort, they asked me to wait, though to be honest I insisted to wait for a few hours (2-3) but in the end I just gave up and went home (which was just a few blocks away).
Anyway the following weekend I decided to give the hotel a try again, but this time booked through the office instead and got a room. When I got to the room, it looks exactly the same as it was 3 years ago, not that it started to smell stuffy or anything but the rooms just looks like a hodge podge of alot of things, it was like there was a team of designers and each had their corner to work on, so some of it just looked out of place, plus the "art glass" on the mini bar just wasn't for me, its more for a movie set than a hotel room. (which was validated when I saw the movie, Curse of the Golden Flower). The beds were standard and the amenities in the room okay...turn down service was fine but evertything was just normal.
I guess now I know why I've always stayed at the Peninsula.
