Hi - stayed at the Wellesley Inn at the beginning of June for 3 nights as part of a large group (relatives who all came from other parts of U.S. for the wedding of a cousin). I booked the Wellesley because all the other aunts/uncles/cousins were doing so. Then I read the reviews here and was afraid -- very afraid. In fact I asked my motherinlaw if maybe we could all move to a different hotel but really too late to move 6-7 rooms worth of people less than 2 weeks before. So we took our chances. I thought our room was okay. We had a room on first floor (maybe 102?) right down the hall from the lobby desk. It was fine, not noticeably dirty or anything but needed an update. Not much of a view (sort of looked out to courtyard where the small pool was, but view partialy blocked by corner of building). Bathroom etc was fine -- they resupplied everything each day. I found the lobby personnel to be just fine -- not overly friendly but they were always helpful w/any of my requests for map to local stores, other questions etc. Due to busy schedules etc, we ended up eating in the hotel sports bar for dinner 2 nights in a row. Fare is very simple (sandwiches, burgers). I had some really good hot wings one night, a BLT sandiwch the next. Breakfast buffet was adequate (muffins, bagels, cereal, fresh fruit) - similar to what you find at other hotels. I think maybe some of the reviews are from people who don't take into account that Armonk is an expensive area so $150/night hotel is on the cheap side and you get what you pay for. They should have seen the suite I paid $300/night (after taxes) in NYC -- it was ok but nothing luxurkious. So -- do not be afraid but adjust your expectations to the price. One final point - my husband reminded me that they said they were going to be starting a major remodel at the hotel in Sept06 completing in Dec 06.
