This was a nice-enough hotel but is very tricky to get to unless you take a taxi (can be expensive). By bus it took us around an hour to get to the hotel from the train station then an hour to get to the ferry terminal for Sakuajima. Not a convenient location, unless you have a rental car. Also, not much of anything for restaurants in the area around the hotel. But what does make this hotel unique is the magnificant view of the bay and the volcano mountain of Sakurajima. Also, there is an all-night ferry next to the hotel so you might want to bring ear-plugs if you're a light sleeper.

If we did this again we would stay closer to the train station - would be so much more convenient.

“Amazing views of sakurajima volcano from room”

Booked this hotel through Asiarooms and got a really good price, the room was lovely and had amazing views over sakurajima volcano. We sat with drinks looking out from the balcony for hours, the hotel is right on the waterfront.

The only drawback is that the hotel is quite a way from the central area of the town, a taxi to the town centre cost about £5.

The restaurants were great, staff very helpful, some spoke English.

I would recommend it if you fancy somewhere quiet.
