“Peaceful, useful Park Hotel”

The Park is not the swankiest hotel in Tokyo, but it's much nicer than you'd expect from the bargain rates. The location is good, near a metro station; the room was large enough, if not enormous; the views are spectacular, or can be (a friend's room looked down on the Ginza, while mine had a view of another high-rise); and all rooms are equipped with high-speed internet. Just the thing to check in with loved ones at home.

Stayed at the Park Hotel for 5 nights. Great location, central to everything. Choose hotel from reviews and primarily for location which was great. Railway subway adjoins the hotel with clear directions from the terminal. About a 5-10 minute walk under the subwy. Once you are familar with signage its an easy walk to the hotel lobby. Very clean hotel, fairly new, contemporary small rooms but adequate. Staff were always friendly and accomodating. English speaking staff memebers which was nice as many Japanese do not attempt to speak English.
Would hightly recommend hotel to tourists wanting someone central to all attractions and the railway system (which is a must use in Japan).

“Great rooms and great service”

Park Hotel Tokyo

My wife and I stayed at the Park Hotel for a week last November while on vacation. The hotel was wonderful. Overall, the hotel has a high-
class business travel style. The atrium was very impressive, but decorated in a subdued style – lots of dark wood. There was also a business center next to the registration desk with two computers with free internet access, one of which was usually available. The view from the panoramic lobby windows was spectacular, especially at sunset.

The room was great. We selected the larger room, which was perfect. There was a good closet and chest of drawers that easily held all of our clothes. There was also a small refrigerator with things like soda, beer and wine, and a tea setting on top (the tea was fantastic). The bathroom was somewhat small, but meticulously clean and highly functional. The space-age toilet was also interesting, with a heated seat and several functions that I dared not try. Once again, the view was amazing.

All of the members of the hotel staff were extremely polite and helpful. Check-in and check-out were each a breeze, and the desk staff helped us with directions, sending mail and other routine tasks. The concierge was very friendly and responsive, and booked all of our tour activities and a couple restaurants (although there was one mix-up in a restaurant location, but it was worked out).

The location was good. It is located in a business district, not a tourist area. It was fun to see the tides of office-workers going to and from work everyday. Maybe it was just because we were on vacation, but we always seemed to be heading in the opposite direction. In any event, there is relatively easy access from the hotel to Tokyo’s awesome train system, which can get you nearly anywhere. In fact, one of the train lines has a station at the bottom of the hotel. The regular JR station is just a short walk away along the under-street walkways, which are filled with shops and small restaurants. It is actually easy to find the way once you know it, but we got hopelessly lost when we first tried it (we came right from the airport with all of our luggage). Thankfully, a helpful florist pointed us the right way.

Finally, we were impressed with the value. The Park Hotel is not the cheapest place to stay, but you get a lot for the money. I would definitely recommend the Park Hotel to anyone traveling to Tokyo for business or pleasure.

“Works Well For Comfort, Convenience and (for now) Price”

Park Hotel Tokyo

We write briefly to add our support for the Park Hotel Tokyo and mention a few other notables.

We found the location of the hotel to be perfect for our tastes, first as a designated stop on the limousine bus line from Narita airport, then as a point of departure to the Ginza district, the Shiodome subway station, and the JR Train station.

(But be forewarned and make no mistake about it: maps and guides and compass and preparation notwithstanding, you will inevitably, as our guidebook stated, get lost at some point....Have no fear for you will eventually, given enough time and practice, figure out the lay of the land in Tokyo and, failing that, come to rely on the good nature of a Japanese stranger for directions)

The area surrounding the hotel is chock full of restaurants, shopping areas, and one of the neatest, large scale, colorful, imaginative, acrobatic, musical, clock towers we have ever observed (see the third floor promenade).

The check-in desk, it bears repeating, is backlit by an amazing view of the Tokyo skyline. The lobby is ample with soaring sight lines.

We had a city view room with a queen bed. The 'snug' size of the room set us slightly aback at first but we adapted; ditto the bath and shower. Housekeeping is dependable. We were generally comfortable.

The breakfast buffet is a real treat with a nice selection of items, set up along one of the back walls in the lobby. Guests sit informally in oversized chairs at low set tables. The cost is about $25/pp at current conversion rates.

Service at the hotel is, in the seeming Asian tradition, attentive, polite, endearing. Our room rate, roughly 17,500 yen for an 'early bird' booking, is terrific. We hope the hotel is able to maintain such an attractive rate. We would surely like to return.

“Fine hotel, not blown away though”

Park Hotel Tokyo

Based on review from Trip Advisor, we booked 4 nights in the Park Hotel for April. The view from the room was great. Free internet was nice. The room was a bit smaller than I would have expected but it worked.

Unfortunately the metro station in the building isn't a very useful one. It's on the Oedo line which doesn't go to many touristy places and it's not a quick connection to get to a more useful line. 95% of the time we ended up walking to Shimbashi station which is on the Ginza line. It's about a 10 minute walk from the hotel but involves using highway overpasses and crosswalks that go across 6 lane roads which can take a while. If you're caught in the rain, it's not a fun walk. Plus getting into the hotel isn't always straight forward. The raised entrance from the highway overpass and JR station closes at night which can be annoying. Also you have to take two elevators to get to your hotel room. One to get to the lobby on the 25th floor, and another to your room. Not really something you look forward to after a really long day; and the elevators are really slow.

The restaurants in the hotel were grossly expensive, but this isn't a deficiency unique to this hotel.

If you take an elevator from the lobby to the basement level you can get right to the Shidome metro station on the Oedo line. In the basement there are also a bunch of smaller restaurants that are reasonably priced. You can walk past them and outside to get to a FamilyMart (ubiquitous convenience store in Japan).

All in all I'd say the hotel itself was fine. Really nothing special. Next time I'm in Tokyo I'll be looking for something with a better location; both for walking and for using the metro.
