My new husband and i stayed here from the 4th April for 10 nights on our honeymoon. The hotel is absolutley stunning, the lobby is beautiful. We were originally meant to be staying on the 19th floor, but when they found out we were on our honeymoon they bumped us up to the 24th floor, which i think was an upgraded room.
The room was lovely and larger than i had expected from some of the reviews on here, the bathroom was quite small but wasnt a problem in the slightest. The view from our window was amazing, we could see the Tokyo tower (see my photos), i spent ages just sat in the window doing my ''Lost In Translation'' thing, just looking out over the city. The room was so clean, the in-room amenities were really good, really nice shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, plus you get toothbrushes, tooth paste, razor, brush, comb, plus the usual shower caps, sewing kits, stocked mini-bar, tea & coffee facilities etc... we also had an iron and ironing board, hair dryer, fridge, safe, slippers, Japanese style robes and dressing gowns. Nice flat screen TV, 2 english channels (i think they were CNN and BBC world news) we loved watching the wacky japanese night-time tv shows.
The closest metro station was Tomeike-Sanno, which was literally a 2 minute walk away, and right on the Ginza line. The metro was so easy to use, we bought open day tickets every day which cost about 700Yen each (you can pay extra for tickets that include use of the Toei line, but we never needed to use this, you can get every where just with the metro lines).
To get to and from Narita airport we used the Limousine Bus, which was really good, friendly staff and really clean and comfortable coaches, took about an hour and a half to get to the hotel, it cost 6000Yen each, for one way.
The hotel is in a good location, not noisy at all. A few convenience stores close by (we mainly used the 7/11 next to the metro station to buy snacks and drinks) Most nights we walked down to Roppongi from the hotel, which was only about a 15-20 minute walk, which is great for shopping, restaurants, bars and nightclubs.
We didn't eat in the hotel restaurants as they did seem quite expensive, even a cup of coffee was over 1000Yen, (but totally worth it, te best Cappuccino i've ever had!) because we were staying for quite a while the hotel gave us ten tickets for complimentary coffees for use in either the Atruim Lounge or the Cascade Cafe.
The hotel staff were so friendly and helpful, but then every Japanese person we met were exactly the same, so courteous, friendly and polite. The hotel staff spoke really good english, but not everywhere else did, luckily my husband speaks Japanese so we got on perfectly fine, so before you go i would definately recommend you learn at least the basics or you will struggle when out and about, and in shops and restaurants.
I would definatley recommend going to the Asakusa Kannon Temple, Tokyo Tower, Harajuku, the Meiji Shrine, the Imperial Palace and Akihabara. We went on a day trip with the JTB Sunrise tours to Mount Fuji and Hakone (which could be booked at the hotel, but we booked beforehand with Expedia), sadly for us the day we had picked for our trip we had terrential rain and Mt. Fuji was so entirely shrouded in mist and cloud that we didnt actaully see it! We were totally gutted as the day after the weather was beautiful.
Overall we really had the best holiday ever and cant wait to go back and will definatly go back to the ANA Intercontinental again. We booked our trip wit Expedia, and it cost just over £2000 for the two of us including our return flights with BA. (we flew from Heathrow Terminal 5 which was absolutely fine, despite all of their current problems).

Business serviceOver the past 3 years I've travelled to Tokyo frequently (approx 5 times a year). The company I work for have corporate rates with ANA InterContinental Tokyo so I always stay there.
I love staying at ANA because the rooms are very clean and spacious, very high tech and the service is always good. Oh, and they have an excellent room service menu! I usually stay on one of the corporate floors so not really sure what the rooms on the lower floors are like.
I used to stay at this hotel back in 2000-2001. Back then the hotel was very bling/decked out in gold and the rooms looked like they were from the 70s. They've since renovated the hotel and whilst the lobby is still a little too bling for my taste, the rooms are very nicely decorated in chic, neutral tones.
The location of this hotel is excellent - walking distance to Ropponggi (for restaurants and bars) and there is a subway station right near it, so you can easily go to other areas of Tokyo.
The service is excellent and the staff go out of their way to be of assistance. Once they even went to the convenience store to purchase deodorant for me, coz I forgot mine at home and was running late for work.

Business serviceWhile at Tokyo on business, I stayed at Hotel Ana. Service is quite excellent. Even if there were plenty of guests awaiting check-in, there are many front desk staff to accommodate us, and rooms are large and overly clean. But the breakfast buffet on their ground floor restaurant is the best breakfast I have ever tasted in a hotel, and I have been to far more bigger and more expensive hotels. The location is very near the train station, and I spent a free afternoon at the Tokyo museum at the city's lovely Oueno Park.
