I stayed in this hotel while attending a conference in Hakodate. There is a convenient and cheap bus service which runs from Hakodate airport every half hour and stops directly outside the hotel (look for the word JAL on the bus timetable if you can't read Japanse). There is also a taxi rank outside the hotel which is convenient for getting around the town. As with most places in Hakodate the hotel staff speak a minumum of English, but they are very polite and helpful and you will be able to get your meaning across easily enough. The rooms are a bit on the small side, which is typical in Japan, but they are kept immaculate and are fully featured, e.g. minibar, cable TV, free Internet access. The area surrounding the hotel is a bit nondescript, but is perfectly safe and within walking distance of the harbour area and city center. The hotel is primarily intended for business travellers rather than tourists, and you will probably want to stay somewhere a bit more central if you are sightseeing. Nonetheless, the hotel is clean and modern and my visit was problem free.
