Dynasty Mui Ne Beach Resort (Dynasty) is a beach resort set up in a Vietnamese courtyard style. I thought the rooms were ok, there was a couch and TV (although most of the cable channels never worked during our 2 night stay) and the bed was comfortable - everything was clean. However the staff spoke little to no English and given that this was a resort aimed at western tourists, and the price of the room puts it in the mid-range cost of hotels in Vietnam, this was not particularly impressive. We also found staff to be extremely unhelpful. For example, a sign in reception advertises daily motorbike hire. When we inquired about this option, staff told us this was no longer available. When we asked them to help us rent a motorbike outside the resort they refused and told us that we should walk out the gate and find one ourself.
Another problem we had was that the bus to Saigon only leaves at 2.00pm, and check out was at 12.00pm. When we asked if we could have a later check-out, as we were catching the bus, staff refused and said we could only do this if we paid for an extra day. Gievn that less than half of the rooms were occupied, I thought that this attitude was extremely poor.
Another problem we had was the bus trip organised by the resort between Mui Ne and Saigon. This is typically a 3-4 hour trip on the bus. From Saigon to Mui Ne we had no problems, the resort had a mini bus which picked us up from our hotel in Saigon, and we were the only people on this bus. Returning to Saigon however was a different matter. We were told to be at the resort by 1.45pm for pick up. We got back at 1.30pm and staff started rushing toward us saying us that our bus had arrived and to hurry up. It turned out that the bus we were taking was a standard public bus and not the resort mini bus we were expecting. So whilst we got on the bus at 1.30, we took over an hour to leave Mui Ne as we had to stop frequently and pick up more guests along the way. We had not been given this information and were pretty annoyed, since the trip took an extra hour overall.
We had been planning to stay an extra night, but changed our minds due to shoddy service. I would not recommend anyone to go tstay at this "resort" when there are plenty of hotels in Mui Ne for the same or a lesser price and with better service.
