we returned from the hotel paridis on 04/06/06, after a great holiday in tunisia. the hotel rooms were very clean and spacious. we had one room with two double bedrooms, each with an en-suite, perfect for ourselves and our two young children.
the rooms were cleaned dailey and the towels and sheets could be changed daily if requested.
there were several lounges all kept immaculately clean with excellently waiter service.
we particularly enjoyed the pool areas which were well kept and monitored regularly by staff.
our children aged 5 and 7 years loved the kids clubs provided by the hotel and by
thomas cook
the food was well presented and they tried to cater for different nationalities and tastes. my husband put on half a stone in weight as he loved the desserts.
by the time we left however the dinning room (and the hotel) was becoming more hectic and staff were finding it more difficult to clear tables quickly enough.
WARNING - do not go to the hacienda as recommended by the rep - it was disgusting, diabolical service and even worse food.
the resterants by the marina in yasminne hammamet were of a very high standard and worth the money- very cheap. a two course meal for five people cost less than £50. including drinks.

I stayed here with my 2 children for a week in May. After reading some of the reviews I was quite suprised to find it clean & tidy. The rooms were bright and plenty of space and cleaned frequently. The anitmation team was good but not great. Breakfast was ok but nothing special, dinner was better with a good variety, although not too hot it was edible. To sum it up I was pleasantly suprised and could not believe the reviews I had read previously. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it. Definatley not the holiday from hell.

Me and a mate stayed at this hotel for a week in early November. We booked though expedia for the first time and quite possibly the last. Nothing against them we wanted and got a cheep holiday the only thing is the transfer from the airport to the hotel was a nightmare. We got in to one of there taxis to get to the hotel and had a scary 1 hour drive to the hotel at one point stopping on a onward ramp to pick up two policemen to take them to another village. Once arrived we checked in and booked a taxi for the way back to the airport (half the price we paid to get there). We got our luggage taken to our room for us and shown where we would be staying. The room had what we needed 2 beds and a bathroom, a safe was available but at a cost so we didn’t worry.
Went to have our meal and was pleasantly surprised at the selection of what was available. One problem we had with the hotel is that they speak very little English and we spoke very little French. This was not a problem when it cam to drink as we got by on a regular basis for this and very cheep. By the end of the holiday we had made friends with some of the French that spoke English and got on well. I would recommend going to the local club at least once as everyone mix’s together and has a good night out once the hotel bar closes at 11.00pm

This was my 3rd stay at the hotel. I must say i love being there in tunisia and at the hotel. All staff who work in the bars etc are fab they are friendly and they remeber you each time you go back. Im not gonna say too much about the managers of the hotel cos i dont like em they have changed over time. However i found marcelle - one of the managers to be especially rude!! Most of the people in reception are happy to help and will do all they can to help.

People have been on here moaning about the hotel restaurant and how they couldnt get a table.... the trick is on your 1st nite or morning depending on times you get there you will be greeted - hopefully by a restaurant manager. You will be shown to a table by them. Make sure you take your room number card with you as this will mark your table for every meal until you leave the hotel. Ask for sassy if you can he is a lovely waiter - an older guy and he is great with kids!! He will help you all he can. I will admit the food isnt always great but its what you make it.
If the hotel food doesnt suit you or you fancy treating yourselves there is a chinese restaurant (called hong kong) nearby just past a part of hammamet called - sidi bou. It costs around £2 to get there in a taxi from the hotel. A meal there for 2 cost around £15 - thats with around 3 dishaes to share along with rice and prawn crackers etc and free starters and fruit for pudding.
There is also bars etc a short distance away from the hotel that sells food if you need it. They are all fairly cheap to eat out at. And you can buy snacks at the hotel shops.

The loud music mentioned late at night....... they have now built some sound proofing for the disco bar that goes on until 2 - 3am during summer months. You can hear noise still but this is mainly from the club a short distance form the hotel. This is quite entertaing ive spent many a night watching the entertainment team dancing they are good! and watching the foreign freaky dancers doing what they call dancing!!

One of the nearby nightclubs is called Latino's its very good there. Music is good, the drinks cheap (compaired to other clubs)but the only let down is the toilets there!! They are dirty!! There are other clubs opposite and nextdoor if latinos turns out not to be your thing!! But they all go on until 4 am and thats good if you are into that kind of thing. There are taxis queued up outside when it finishes so you can get back to your hotel safely at night.

Phone calls home........its best to go across the road and use the taxi phones its very expensive using the hotel phone boxes. But there are times when it gets very busy there so be prepaired for a wait. Dont let anyone push infront of you as foreign people tend to try. Just remember who was infront of you when you went in and stick to your guns and you will be fine!! Also dont forget your dinar coins!! It costs the same to call a mobile as it does a landline phone in there too.

The hotel rooms..... they are cleaned everyday and towels changed too. There is air conditioning in the rooms which is nice in summer because it does get hot. Some rooms dont have great bathrooms but any problems report them to either the rep or reception they will then fix them as soon as possible which can sometimes take a while but its not like you spend all your time in rooms is it when you are on holiday?! At least i hope not there is a world to see after all!!

The pool areas ......they are kept clean and tidy by staff in bars and pool staff. I have to say the life guard is fab!!!!!! I saw him save a kid earlier this year who had been left at the childrens pool by his parents while they were on the beach. This child was pulled from the pool unconscious by the life guard and brought back round and cared for until the ambulance arrived to take him to hospital!! He is a total star!!!!

Places to go.......there is a roman ruin more or less next door to the hotel called the putput. A man bought the land to build a hotel on it and was gutted to find the ruins on the land because it meant he couldnt build his hotel! i havent been to visit it but been told is interesting if your into that kind of thing!! The media in the town centre. before you go there visit the hotel shop and get rough ideas of prices. Before getting there decide what sort of things you want to buy and how much you would pay for them and stick to the prices you decide. If they say no in the first shop there is always another one to try that will. Theres loads of shops there and some with more than 1 door so beware!! You have to be good at saying no if you visit there as people will try to get you into their shops anyway they can. But take it all lightheartedly and you will be fine. After all they do come out with some funny things such as cheaper than asda price!! After shopping in the medina look out for an ice cream parlour called canaries. Try their fresh fruit juices, ice creams or crepes they are well worth visiting tunisia for believe me!! In sousse there is a shoe centre where you can buy almost any kind of shoe for next to nothing compaired to here!! girly heaven!! and try the fixed price shop while there. Also there is a market in Nabeul which is worth a look. Its a locals market where tunisians buy their shopping!! But once again check hotel shops for prices before going so you know the rough idea of what things are worth.

I think thats all any questions feel free to contact me my email address will be shown.

My family and I have just returned from what should have been a two week stay at the "Paradis" however for reasons you are about to discover we managed only one night before complaining and moving to a subsequent hotel. On arrival at the hotel it was clear that the hotel was in need of some TLC. On our check in we found the reception staff to be both unfriendly and arrogant. It was unclear at this point just how bad things were going to get and they got much worse! Our room can only be described as a health and safety issue it was dirty containing a toilet brush covered in human faeces and our seven year olds bed collapsed every time it was sat upon. The pool area was dirty and the beach was found to be in a similar state. It was our arrival to dinner that first evening which was to be the final straw in a very short stay. On entering the restaurant we were confronted by a a waiter corking a bottle with his teeth which was then presented to a table of unsuspecting guests. We then managed to find a table and were literally attacked by flies they were everywhere on tables , in glasses and just swarming in the food on the buffet. It was the same story at breakfast so my family packed up and shipped out to a nearby hotel for the rest of our stay.
