“A wonderful holiday resort”

Hammamet Garden Hotel

Jun 16, 2008

I was quite worried about staying at this hotel after reading some of the reviews, i needn't have worried as it was excellent. The transfer was an hour and a half, but it didn't seem that long. The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly. If you tip the waiters a few Dinars at the start of your holiday then they will look after you for the length of your stay and they will never let your glass get empty! On all inclusive you could only have beer or wine and obviously all your soft drinks, the alcohol was very nice and was certainly not watered down.
The only thing which could do with improving is the variety of meals as alot of dishes were repeated ,but saying that i'm a very fussy vegetarian who also will not eat fish, and i always found something to eat.
The private beach is a short walk from the hotel and was lovely, with golden sand and was always clean. There are alot of water sports available and they are very cheap to take part in.
There is an English bar near hotel called shakespeare, ( don't be fooled by the 2 other near by bars claiming to be british as they are not, shakespeare is the only one) in this bar the food is lovely and the drinks are cheap, it's buy one get one free all day!
I would go back to this hotel, the people that complain about this have either been unlucky or just have nothing better to do than moan!

“The Worst Hotel I have ever stayed in”

Hammamet Garden Hotel

The Hammamet Garden Hotel in Tunisia is a joke. In a nut shell I wouldn’t insult a dog by asking it to stay there. If you read a review on this Hotel saying it is good then these people are clearly very very easily pleased.

On the first day our group of 12 people all wanted to go home so it is not just my opinion. We paid for all inclusive....when we arrived they tried to feed us bread and butter. The alcoholic drinks were almost nonexistent. The beer tasted like water and the only spirits available were the former guests that had killed themselves out of depression.

It seems the staff had been trained by a chimp with no manners ...they kept hassling us and they all thought they were gangsters. Our room was two floors above the bar so every night were treated to karaoke from hell. The rooms were not too bad but the only channel in English is BBC news. As soon as you walk outside the hotel you are greeted with beggars and vagrants

All I can say is please do not ruin your holiday and stay in this hotel...there are much better hotels and resorts along the coast.

“Great place to relax...dont't believe the reviews!!!”

Hammamet Garden Hotel

Apr 27, 2008

So...we read the reviews on here and it was with some trepidation that we arrived at the Hotel at 9.20pm last Sunday..check in was quick and without any fuss..we went to our room and were extremely pleased with the cleanliness.. the view was impeccable and we could see immediatlly that it wasnt a Four Star hotel!...
We then went straight to the bar and were again pleasantly surprised with the quality of the beer!!...the glasses WERE half pint but hey you dont go on holiday to get pissed the whole time (do you??)
We tipped the staff a small amount of 2 Dinar which is equivalent of a pound and for the rest of the week we could not ask for better service,,
The whole hotel tried its best to help us enjoy ourselves and I have to say that everything about the place was fine!
Its no 4 star boutique hotel but we had such a good time that I have to say to all the moaners on here.." Go to Benidorm!!!"..
If you want full English and chips with everything DONT GO HERE..if you want to be surrounded by Football shirts and the silly English way of holidaying then DONT GO HERE!!
If you expect everything to be the same as you get back in Britain DONT GO HERE!!!
BUT if you want a relaxing time with people who are genuinely trying their best to ensure that you enjoy yourself..then PLEASE go and have a good time....
We did and will be going back soon..any questions please do not hesiate to contact me!!
Its a great hotel with better than average facilities and much better than average staff...p.s. the food and beer is great!!!!!
