Booked my stay through travelrepublic for an absolute bargain, and didn't expect too much. Went three times as I was meeting a friend. The hotel is small, very clean- food is good- buffet style, though a little repetitive except on Friday they have a fantastic couscous with vegetables, chickpeas and chicken. Please try it! I've had quite a few different varieties of this dish from all over north Africa and this is one of the best I've had. Breakfast is good too- if you expect bacon this is an ISLAMIC country so do a little research! But they have boiled, fried eggs, omelettes, crepes, croissants, toastm juises, coffee and always have a huge range of salads. The indoor pool has just been refurbished, outdoor pool was obviously ice cold due to the time of year I travelled. Rooms are cleaned every day- would recommend getting a pool view as that is sun side, especially in the winter, and on the third floor if opossible but all rooms are fine, with bathroom, shower, sink and toilet. If you are going half or full board remember that you have to pay for soft drinks even with your meal (except breakfast) and these are very expensive- not that I would advise to sneak in drinks as this is against hotel policy- but you do have a fridge in your room ;-). Staff are friendly, generally have good English but it helps if you speak a little French and watch for people trying to buy your phones as they know the value, and you can sell them elsewhere for more if that's what you want. The rooms have safes an would advise you use one. I had no issue with security at all, but there were one or two rumours (only rumours- no evidence) There is little or no evening entertainment in the winter, so if you want animations book a larger hotel or come in the summer, when there is also a pool bar. For shopping, travel outside of the area- to Sousse, Nabouel or Tunis for the real experience. You can book this through your rep, but it's just as easy to use public transport, or the louage (a minibus that goes from Hammamet to Tunis for around 3 dinars, Sousse for 4, and Nabouel for 1- there is a bus to Nabouel from outside the hotel for just over a dinar) Don't make calls from the hotel; go to the publitel for cheap international calls which is just on the beachfront. All in all, for fantastic value, good food, and a nice beach- this is perfect!
