We arrived late at night and were put in a very small, shabby room with a dirty towel in the closet, a shower curtain with mold, and stained carpeting. I would have been able to let all that go, if it had not been for the giant cockroach that crawled across the bed. We did complain and we were put in a much nicer room with an ocean view we were not charged for. However, we had sugar ants in this room the whole time and not able to leave any food out. On a positive note, the gardens were beautiful and the beach fabulous. Most of the staff there were very friendly. Although, there was one man, who we thought was on staff, who hung around the hotel lobby and gift shop trying to talk people into a "free tour" around Hammamet for the new guests that happens only once a week. Needless to say, when we didn't go the first time he approached us, there conveniently was another tour the next day for hotel guests who missed out. My husband and I were duped by this and wound up in a basement of some store being aggressively pressured to by a carpet. I would NOT give this hotel a 4 star rating. It needs some serious work and they need to get rid of the guy in the lobby. In addition, a couple of parts of the hotel that were advertised were either not open or working. The pool-bar (where you can swim up and get a drink) was not open, nor was the grill at the main bar. This hotel has the potential to be really nice, but falls short.
