“Paragon fabulous hotel”

Patong Paragon Hotel

Nothing but good things to say about the Paragon. The hotel itself is beautiful and our room was spacious with a fabulous bathroom. The room was scrupulously clean (cleaned every day.) Most hotel staff had limited English but we were able to communicate and be understood by them and they were always attentiive to our needs. Great location for the beach just across the road. Good luck crossing the road - the traffic is mind boggling.
While the hotel was situated about 15 minutes walk from the main shopping and nightlife it did not prove to be a disadvantage, as the weather was perfect for the nightly walks we came to enjoy, however if you are going to Patong for the nightlife you may prefer a hotel that is closer, as the walk could prove to be very unpleasant in hotter conditions. Tuk tuk and taxis are everywhere but for such a short distance we found their prices to be a bit excessive.
I would highly recommend the Paragon and would definitely stay again.

My boyfriend and i stayed at Patong Paragon for five nights, and it was fantastic.
The rooms are spotless, spacious, trendy, and the bathrooms are huge(and most importantly clean!)
The staff were helpful, even though their English could be improved on, but overall this is a great hotel.
The food at both restaurants was amazing.

Yes, it will take you about 10-15 Mins to walk to the heart of all the action, but personally, i wouldnt want to be around there anyway!

I just spent 2 nights at the Patong Paragon hotel. It is a beautiful and quiet hotel. The room was spectacular – it included a king size bed, desk area, bonus meditation area. The bathroom was spacious with both a shower and separate tub. Hotel is loaded at the northern area of Patong beach, next to the Novotel. BTW: Wireless Internet access is not included in the price of the room and extremely expensive to use the hotels. If Internet access with your laptop is really important, I would recommend staying somewhere else. I would recommend to bring your own bar of soap and hair conditioner (if you use it). Hair conditioner is not provided (in any of the Thailand hotels I stayed at) and this hotel provides liquid soap – I prefer bar soap when I shower. Full breakfast buffet was included in my package – This is not just any breakfast – it included foods from around the world to suite any nationality. 5 star hotel in my book!

“Great looking but badly managed hotel.”

The Patong Paragon is one of the more ritzy hotels in the Patong district. We had a few dramas checking in when we presented our travel voucher - the worker at the desk couldn't seem to find any trace of our booking which was concerning, but they allowed us to stay and they never followed up with us, so everything appeared to be okay.

We learnt after the second day that room service was a bit of a no no - it was really very expensive after they added surcharges. Breakfast one morning came to about 2000 baht for two of us- for meals that were free if you bothered to go downstairs. Never again! Also, everything in the mini bar is tagged - we replaced a couple of Heinekins that we drank and a lady that night came bursting into our room, opened the fridge, exclaimed "no no no!!!", charged us for the two beers and put two more cans of "Patong Paragon" beers in the fridge! Okay, so we were caught, but the way she did it was extremely rude.

Only one person that worked there we found spoke good English which made the whole experience frustrating if you wanted to get something done. Also, the hotel was still under construction so there was quite often noise a bit too early in the morning.

The room when we arrived was fantastic, but as the holiday wore on it became clear that very little actual cleaning was being done and by the time we left the room was quite dirty. Breakfast was usually pretty good with a nice selection of foods.

We did have a good stay there and the facilities are great but the staff needs vast improvement. The price we paid was certainly towards the pricier end of the spectrum so given that that, along with the various experiences we had with the staff there, I will stay somewhere else next time I visit Phuket.

“The good and the not so good about Patong Pargon”

I and my wife stayed in the Patong Paragon for a get away from the kids. I found the hotel to be family oriented with a beautiful pool. I will state the pros and cons of the Hotel and room we stayed in:
Pros:
1-Excellent design and spacious room and bathroom
2-27" TV and great selection of channels, although I wish they had an Arabic news channel for the many Arab visitors.
3-Comfortable mattress and pillows. Although the lamp posts over the bed were in an awkward place over the head.
4-Great pool view from the room. I think all the rooms are pool view.
5- Two bottles of Water are placed in your room when and if housekeeping cleans your room.
6-Location near paragon beach. However, 5-10 minute walk from main parket in the area.
7-Good Air Conditioning system
Cons:
1- Found the toilet seat dirty when we checked into our room. we asked the front desk to send someone to clean it to no avail. We ended up cleaning it ourselves!
2-Housekeeping in general is substandard. We left our room for a whole day trip and left the sign to clean our room on the door. We came back at the end of the day to find the sign as is and our room unclean. We had to ask the house keeper to clean our room the next day!
3-The Hotel supplies amenities for the bathroom, however shampoo was not one of them.
4-The selection in the Breakfast buffet was very limited.
the main activities and market in the beach
6-No room service available after 12am!
7-Workers need to improve their English
8-Bathroom has no lock (problem if you have childeren in the room)

Overview, excellent design, average location and slightly below average service.
