My fiancee and I just returned from a 5 day trip to the Seychelles. We didn't know what to expect but were absolutely amazed. We stayed on Mahe in a beautiful place called Clef des Iles and it was so wonderful that we almost didn't want to leave our villa to visit the rest of the island.
Clef des Iles is a block of 4 villas that are smack bang on the beach at Beau Vallon. You step off the back steps and land on the sand! It is incredible! The sound of the ocean puts you to sleep at night.
The villas themselves are great. They are self-contained so they have a good kitchen including fridge and stove and all utensils and you get a starter package of food when you arrive including milk, eggs, bacon, juice etc which was perfect.
There are 2 bedrooms on the upstairs floor and the main bedroom has a small balcony overlooking the ocean. The bed is huge and comfortable. You could easily stay in the villa with a whole family.
The owners, Stephane and Marquis, have built the whole place themselves and it was only opened in May. They were always on hand to give us advice about diving, snorkelling, restaurants or whatever we wanted and they give the place such a welcoming feeling they are at risk of never getting rid of their guests.
All in all, this was the most relaxing holiday we've ever had and we'll definitely be going back to stay at Clef des Iles.
