sharm el shiekh park inn hotel- We really enjoyed this holiday we love travelling and try to go on holiday twice a year this time we thought we will try Egypt so we booked the park inn (formely known as the golden resort) after reading some not so good reviews we thought we will still give it a go we went for 10 days and came back on the 28/03/08 we have two daughters aged 5 and 3 they did not want to come back the people are really friendly especially the hotel staff, once you tell them your name they will remember throughout your stay. They really go out of their way for you, a good tip to remember is to tip the waiter in the main restaurant and he will save you a good table. The only excursion we done was the one day trip to cairo to see the pyramids and the museum we set off at 5am and reaced back to the hotel at 11.30pm i would first of all advice that dont go with your tour operator (first choice) because they rip you off and they dont tell you the itinery either so you dont know what is happening until you get there, did not get to spend much time only 40 min at the pyramids and we paid over £500 its better to go with a excursion company from naama bay which there are so many we later found out that a family paid for the same trip around £350 . Going back to the hotel, the only downfall is that the aquapark is new and really nice but the water was freezing cold as they did not want to turn on the heaters in the pools, we did complain to our rep (first choice) and the General manager, but nothing was done about it. We did read some reviews before we went that people had upset stomaches, we were fine, you just have to be carefull what you ate when you are out. We went by the hotel shuttle bus to naama bay which is really nice, they have all the restaurants like pizza hut, mc donalds, kfc, tgi fridays and hard rock cafe, the food in these places is not expensive but cheaper then London. Overall we really enjoyed it the girls really liked it in Egypy, we try not to go back to the same place again but we will definetly go back to sharm, but at another hotel.

“fab place to stay”

This place was truly fab. the hotel doesnt look that amazing but it is a traditional hotel with lots of room and guests. The staff are excellent, every single one. The drinks are all local but this isnt a problem, as there are lot of cocktails to choose from, ask for a Ramsey special he is one of the most hard working staff and lovely very funny. All the staff are superb the two mohamads will go out of their way to please you along with Khalied though he is very queit but fine once you have a chat to him on a one to one. The staff will all go out of their way to help you there is also Sajid who is in the restruant he will make sure you are getting what you want. ok so the food isnt anything special at times some nights its really good. but the menu changes every day so it isnt a problem along with this there is a chef who is on hand to make you whatever you want if you dont like something.

The night life in the hotel is poor but then Nama bay is not far in a taxi and you should deffo not pay more than fifty which is a fiver there are some really nice places to eat out here and its more than half of the price we wold pay here.. think we paid about fifteen pound in hard rock for two meals two starters and this was with drinks!
I would tell anyone to go to to egypt it was a really relaxing holiday though it can be wild in nama bay!I The hotel is s bit out from nama bay though you dont want to be so close as of the noise, if you do stay here you may not need airport transafers its about five minutes from the airport so again only pay a fiver which is fifty pounds .
The staff in this hotel are trutly an asset and they are very friendly they go out of their way ot please you and love children too.The staff here really made my holiday special and memerable;. the one thing i would say is you should tip the staff as they only earn about forty pound a month ,seriously, their cost of living is a lot lower, though not in sharm. I would tell you not to tip them every time but leave it until the end of the holiday and give them a nice tip then we gave a lot of the staff a fiver and some a tenner.
If I ever go back to sharm which i hope to do this is the only place for me!

I hope this helps

“Not a 4 Star Hotel”

Park Inn Sharm El Sheikh Resort

Feb 8, 2008

Me and my wife returned from this resort on 7 February 2008 after a two - week stay.

First and foremost, Sharm El Sheikh airport is a human cattle market. It took us ninety minutes to get through passport control.
No information was displayed as to which carousel our bags were on. I asked a member of staff - he told me to ignore the screens and gave me the correct number!

We left the terminal and were directed to our coach. My bag was taken from me and half loaded on the coach. At this point, I was asked for money! I took the bag back and said I'd do it myself. It turned out that this guy was just wandering the airpoint trying to make a fast buck - so beware.

The hotel is well laid out and the two pool areas are very pleasing on the eyes.

The staff are very helpful and friendly, especially "Geezer from Giza" and "Ramzy" - two of the bar staff.

Tipping is a must for which you will be treated like royalty.

The water park is very windy at this time of year and only part of it was open. (You have to pay for drinks here so sneak them in from the other side!)

Entertainment is virtually non - existent and I would give careful consideration to this hotel if you have a need for being entertained.

The drinks are okay, but ask for a gin & tonic and you won't be getting Gordons & Schweppes.

You can play pool at the back of one of the bars - but the hotel charges £2.60 per half an hour for the balls - shame on them.

Internet access is available at £4.00 per hour - scandalous.

The biggest disppointment for us in this hotel was the restaurant - we actually called it a canteen at the end of the stay.
The food was 'very same old same old', which we expected in an all inclusive deal. But, there was little variation. The restaurant has only one toaster - so you queue to get your toast, then queue for a fried egg or omlette. By the time you get one or the other - one is cold.
Almost every day at every meal time, we had to wait for cups and cutlery to be washed and dried for tea and coffee.
It seems the British are the only race who have any concept of queuing - the rest just push in and blank you. The management are sympathetic but do nothing about it.
On several occasions, we had got up to get another course, only to return and find our table taken by other people.

We did the two - day trip to Giza for the pyramids. A worthwhile trip and certainly an eye opener.
I would advise anybody to take a toilet roll with them and £1.00 LE for the toilets.

When we got off the coach at Giza, we were accosted by numerous local egyptians trying to flog us tat. You have to be really firm with these people or they will bleed you dry.

Don't take a photo of a camel or a policeman if asked and don't ask them either - they will charge you for the privelige!

Considering the area of Giza where the pyramids are, they were a sight to behold and certainly worth the seven hour drive to get there.

We enjoyed our stay but wouldn't return to this particular hotel.

“good hotel”

Park Inn Sharm El Sheikh Resort

Just back from the park inn resort, sharm.
Hotel was good nice pools, very clean, staff friendly.
Food ok,breakfast chef cooks omeletes, pancakes, waffles etc.
Dinner bit of choice soups, always chicken, meat or fish dish.
Evening meals theme nights,barbeque.
Food did get boring, not much if your a fussy eater my partner lived off bread rolls.
One thing food was always hot,we never had a problem with being ill which was a bonus, went prepared with tablets incase.

Did get bit first night by mosquitos then nothing,my partner and son were ok.

Waterpark was brilliant, would be good in month or so when its all open.It was free so we didnt mind. You have to pay for drinks we sneaked them in from the other bars.

We had a family room overlooking the aqua bast waterpark it was huge, bedroom with 2 dbl beds,1 lounge with 2 dbl sofa beds.2 bathrooms.Very spacious.

Entertainment very poor, out of 1 week we had a fab folklore show, then 2 nights of Mr Park Inn,(where the guests make the entertainment) bingo and quiz night only lasting half hour to an hour.
I will be writing to the hotel manager to let him know as really this is the only real fault this hotel has,its lets it down.

Im a travel agent and i looked for months to pick the hotel,i wasnt disapointed with my choice, there is room for improvement but i would def go again.
Didnt like naama bay at all.Luckily a 10mins taxi ride away.
There is 2 shopping centres,mc donalds and soon opening starbucks, harley davidson cafe just 20mins walk from hotel.Take a left out of hotel. We went 3 times. If you want a taxi dont pay more than 10 egy pounds.
We got a taxi to Naama bay dont pay more than 50 egypt,(fiver)
Also the airport is 50 egypt.

Hope ive covered everything,be careful booking your hotel as lots of dodgy ones in sharm.I wouldnt have a problem recommending this one.
You can use the restruants at the radisson accross the road and get 25% off, also use the entertainment heard its better.

Beach is good the bar is all inclusive too.
Quad bike safari in the dessert a must..25 quid each bike
