“Nice hotel - Service needs improving”

I thought I'd write a review as I could not find many when I was looking to book. The hotel is very plush and is listed as 5 star. While we found the rooms and grounds to be of a good standard, the service was not up to scratch. We arrived at 4.00am to find only 1 bed in a room sleeping 4 people. When I asked where the children's beds were the bell boy pointed at the bed & said it was big enough for us all! Not a good start. At 5.00am we sat & had to watch 2 more beds being made up - 1 of which they wanted to charge us for! The black out blinds were hanging down & I had to ask 3 times before they were fixed. There were a few other things not working in the room but these were eventually fixed. This is not a hotel for children - I took my boys aged 4 & 11 & there was next to nothing for them to do - 2 table tennis tables & bar football! It seems the hotel is mainly used for business as it is next door to the congress centre. The pool was huge but far too cold although the children managed to get in! The food was ok - the usual eggs, omelettes, pancakes etc for breakfast. We had half board & swapped the evening meal for lunch as we like to eat out in the evenings. The hotel is about a ten minute drive to Naama Bay & the taxis try to rip you off at every opportunity. There are regular shuttles to Naama Bay & the sister hotel Maritim Jollie Ville throughout the day. The Jollie Ville is next door and a far better hotel for children.

“The most luxurious hotel in Sharm”

Maritim Jolie Ville Royal Peninsula Hotel & Resort

5 of 5 stars

Me and my wife stayed at the maritim royal peninsula in sharm el sheikh at the end of feb 2008. We had arranged our holiday through holidayplace.com and got a good deal, we where taking a risk with the hotel as it was only a new one (9 months old) and it did not have many reviews. we arrived at the hotel at night through the transfer arranged through holiday place. we where greeted by a concierge who took our lugguage and the reception staff. Being on our anniversary the reception staff kindly upgraded us at no extra cost to an executive room. We then traveled to our room in a buggy and where amazed at the size of the resort. The reception /lobby was very nice with many large crystal chandeliers and there was a computer which you could use for internet, a bar and toilet areas.
The room was amazing, a very very large room with an absolutely huge, extremely comfortable bed. The room had a very large 37 inch lcd screen too, with a lounge area and the room was very well arranged with large wardrobes and a safe. The room also contained a mini-bar.
THe bathroom also like the room was huge with a large shower cubicle and tub. The room was provided with all the things associated with a 5 star resort i.e. lotions, hairdryer etc.
The minibar didnt have anything in it and it didnt work to start off with but the staff where very helpful and appologetic to get it working.
In terms of food, there where 3 types of restaurant- a italian, thai and buffet type restaurants. We visited the thai restaurant and used the buffet restaurant for the breakfast. The buffet for the breakfast was out of this world with an absolutlely huge selection of cakes, sweets, danish's and a huge must for those of you with a sweet tooth. Also there was cereals, and fried breakfast items and omeletes prepared fresh for you.
The thai restaurant for a three course meal would probably cost you £30 per person.
Room service was good with a wide selection of drinks, the menu was a bit limited for food, but very well priced- you could also order breakfast boxes- like we did when we went to cairo and luxor.
The hotel opperated a shuttle service to naama bay (the shopping /eating area in sharm- 5mins by shuttle) and this was run approx every 3 hours. There was also an hourly shuttle service to the beach.
The grounds of the hotel where amazing and regularly maintained on a daily basis by many gardeners- see the pictures. The pool was absolutely huge with areas for children, along with many sunbeds and a huge jacuzzi. Near the pool was available an all day bbq area where freshly prepared bbq was available.
The hotel also had a gym which had very very good equipment, rivalling what you would find in gyms in the uk, as well as tennis courts, volleyball courts as well this the maritim jolie vile golf course was nearby and maritim peninsula customers get discount off this.
Security for the hotel was great and there was a constant patrol in the resort which made you feel very safe.
The best thing about the resort was the staff - naming a few mohammed haider and mohammed at reception- every one was excellent and made sure that your visit to the hotel was special. You could not ask for any more from the staff- they where the ones that made this visit very very special.
The hotel has also a few bars but no club, its a resort which is based for couples and business people - for people that want a quiet spot in sharm away from the hustle and bustle of naama bay.

The only bad thing about the resort is that its not based on the beach, but the way sharm is, the beach is only 5 mins away anyway.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone and looking at other hotels on trip advisor i would say its probably the most luxurious hotel in sharm at the moment.

“Had a great holiday”

Maritim Jolie Ville Royal Peninsula Hotel & Resort

Stayed at the hotel at the end of November. There was a large group of us transferred here due to the original hotel being overbooked.

From arrival until departure the hotel lived up to all expectations of a 5 star hotel. The reception is beautiful and a good first impression on arrival. Checkin was quick and easy and then a transfer by buggie to the rooms. The rooms are very impressive and very large and well appointed.

The restaurants and bars on site are good. The staff certainly looked after us. The restaurants are well managed and food was good. A special thanks to Hassanin one of the managers.

Pool was great and bigger than expected. It is well maintained and plenty of sun beds.

The hotel is directly on the flight path and the aircrafts can be annoying. The first flight can be at approx 4am, but think you get more used to the noise.

I will be back to the hotel in the future.

“A Fantastic Holiday in Sharm El Sheikh”

Maritim Jolie Ville Royal Peninsula Hotel & Resort

4 of 5 stars
Nazareth, Israel

Me and my wife just got back from a week's vacation in this wonderful hotel. If you are a couple looking for some peace and quiet away from the masses, but with a convenient access to the nightlife of Naama Bay, this is the perfect place for you. This new hotel is situated right next to Sharm’s International Conference Center and about 10 minutes by taxi (which costs 20 Egyptian Pounds – don’t pay more) from Naama Bay. The official opening is on the 1st of September 2007 but most of the hotel facilities are fully functional. The rooms of the hotel are bungalow style buildings. Our bungalow was huge with two double beds, a fancy washroom, and a 32” screen LCD TV. We had the pool and the Jacuzzi to ourselves most of the time. We didn’t use the tennis or the golf courts that are available, simply because it was too hot during the day. There’s a shuttle bus to Naama Bay 5 times a day but we only used the last one that left at 10 pm. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful and we would definitely go back. Feel free to drop me an email if you need further details.
