“Not Bad”

Tropitel Naama Bay

My wife and I have just returned from a weeks stay in Tropitel Naama Bay. The Hotel itself is lovely. I was suitably impressed on check in even if it was at about 3am. If you are flying from Dublin please be advised that you will travel to Egypt via Cyprus (we weren't told this and spent 10minutes scratching our heads at the airport looking for a flight to Sharm when there was none, but our flight number corresponded with the flight to Larnaca) Anyway, no fault of the hotels. The presence of the scanners on the door of the hotel was a little disconcerting but I can understand why. On check in we were told to follow a member of staff to our room, which was a camel ride away. It is quite a big hotel and our room seemed to be the other side of town. The room was nice, clean and comfortable. The pools are great and the staff tried to keep everyone amused throughout the day. There are also some water slides which are quite good too. I like my beer, and was frustrated that even though the beer was poured from a bottle you always ended up with a glass that contained about 2 mouthfuls (I have a big mouth). Why couldn't they just give you the bottle? We were AI and while I feel my wife and I got our moneys worth through the drinks, I thought the food wasn't up to scratch. Each day had a different theme e.g Italian, Bavarian etc but it all looked pretty much the same to me. On Italian day the had a few pizzas on offer but apart from that I couldn't see much difference. We ended up eating out 4 nights as we had our fill of the same food for the 1st couple of nights. The hotel guests were mostly Russian during our stay and although I don't wish to tar everyone with the same brush, on the whole, they were rude, selfish and obnoxious. Obviously queueing is not big in their country and they would walk over the top of you to get to the food counters. Apart from the food I would recommend this hotel. The staff were friendly for the most part, the facilities were good, it's location is excellent, and if you like a tipple you will your moneys worth on the AI.

my friend and i had booked this hotel through you travels sales reps recommendation, we arrived at about ten pm, checked in very swiftly, reception chap was very nice proffessional and efficiant. the hotels sweeping staircases are really nice ,a bit like dynasty. the hotel could not be better for location. i have been to better all inc hotels before in the sense you get all your drinks free ie water, coke, ice lollies etc but once you get the hang of it, its ok. i would say the staff are very friendly without being sleazy like i had been warmed of egyptians. the food was lovely, plenty choice, swimming pools great, entertainment really good, they all work so hard!!! beach a bit small but you just have to go fairly early, excursions first class, we went snorkelling for the day and swimming with dolphins, amazing experiences, i loved this holiday so much we,re going back in 8 weeks, i just got back last week, im staying in the same hotel, everything... wicked wicked wicked, cant wait!!!!!

“Good location, 3* Hotel”

Tropitel Naama Bay

Good location but as previously stated elsewhere it was about a 3 star hotel standard. Meal times really annoyed me as it seems that some people (mainly eastern europeans) hadn't eaten for the previous several months judging by the way they raced around the buffet area and gathering as much food as they could on one plate (sometimes more than one!). As a result, we ate out every night as it is quite cheap anyway. If I went to Sharm again I would probably do bed and breakfast at a nicer hotel rather than all inclusive at a cheaper one.

This hotel does not do what it says on the TIN...myself , partner and son went here in september last year, it was very hot and the hotel was fine really, except we would have never gone all inclusive if we had of known, the food was ok but the drinks were a complete nightmare going all around the hotel to find the right bar at the right time that served drinks that we didnt have to pay for. The lobby bar which is the first bar you come to when you've been out in the scorching heat is for paying guests and only available to us at silly hours, the staff at this bar were quite rude and were never willing to give my son change for the internet or pool table. Reception staff and resturant staff were lovely. I could never understand why the staff were always reluctant to tell you were all the swimming pools were./??? Anyway over all we went to see the pyramids they were amazing! The hotel was clean....but beware of the FOOD us english have sensative tummys and myself and partner came back with food poisoning. Would we go back, probably not. In my opinion talking to friends if you want to go to Egypt go for the Real 5 star hotels

“Tropitel - good location but ....”

Tropitel Naama Bay

Definitely not a 5* by European standards. More like a below average 4*. All inclusive wine undrinkable. Refused to give us bottles of water, beer or wine, all drinks only available by the glass, very inconvenient. This necessitated frequent visits to supermarket over the road to purchase bottled water and other drinks.

Hotel staff friendly.

Food barely ok, not even 4* standard. Hygiene ok - at least we did not have any stomache problems!

Very low water pressure in bathrooms throughout, making a shower long and tedious.

Aircon inefficient; would have been a big problem in summer.

Beach ok, but swimming hazardous due to dangerous and stupid speedboat drivers who seem to think they have right of way.

Note about Sharm: You could get very fed up with this place after1 week. There are predatory (local) men hanging around the street cafes. Keep your wife/girlfriend close! The street traders are persistent - an absolute nightmare after a while.
