Hi, my husband and I have just returned from five days at the Royal Rojana Resort. The break was in celebration of our Anniversary following a terribly sad and difficult 12 months, I emailed the Hotel two weeks prior to going explaining this. I booked the Executive Suite with all the supposed extras which went with it in the ,quote, Luxurious Five Star Resort. When we arrived we were shown to a dirty room, the bed unmade, ash in the ashtray, towels on the floor, broken toilet seat, the 21 sky channels had no reception........need I go on! Yes I must! We found our way back to Reception, I cried, the complete lack of interest from the Management Team was diabolical, we had left home at 10.00am in the morning and it was now gone 1.00am, I pleaded with them for just a clean room for the night but the hotel was over booked! With Russians by the way, out of 500 rooms, 20 were allocated to English. When our 'suite' was finally ready, which was two rooms next to each other with a hole knocked through for the door, no ambience at all, it was still very basic, do not expect a basket of fruit on arrival or tea making facilities, or even little extras in the bathroom, which the kids love on our return. Don't even expect a welcome leather bound book with details of restaurants, fire exits etc, you get a photo copied piece of paper on arrival. The food, well is cold, and the night befores menu is reinvented for breakfast and lunch, stick to the pancakes at least you know they are fresh! The best restaurant is on the front overlooking the sea, but look out for the birds going in and out of the kitchen feasting themselves. We asked to change hotels but apparantly the whole of Sharm was fully booked. We both became very ill on day 3, and, we are not recovered yet some 7 days later. I feel very sad that our first trip to Egypt is memorable for all the wrong reasons, this hotel has a butlins feel to it and I would put it at a 2/3 star max! The hotel staff remember you and are lovely, the fish are amazing, the sea is crystal clear, glass bottom boat worth a go. We spoke to a few other couples at this resort who were also very disappointed. I did lodge a complaint with the rep who was very unhelpful and our toilet seat was never repaired, I have also requested a full refund, what to do if we don't get one? Any suggestions,

Hi my name is Emma, i stayed at thr RRR in egypt and i have to say that i would give it about a 2/10 both my partner and i and about 15 other couples were very sick from the food, we had been seen by 2 different doctors and didnt get anywhere. In the end when we came home we got mostly all refunds apart from a few who didnt want to bother. The pools were so cold.. As for the gym was something you would see in an old time movie everything was about 30 years old, broken and it wasnt very clean. When we got into our room the DBL bed was 2 single beds shoved together and then we got a better room as we were very unhappy, that room wasnt much better infact the sink in the bathroom was broken and the bed was on chunks of wood only one leg was intact. Myself and many other ppl had to have JABS to stop the pain from being so sick and that was on the last day because 5 of us wernt going to be aloud to fly back home.. I wouldnt tell anyone to go stay here. The best hotels to stay at are ones that you know of (like ones that are all over the world.) The internet never worked so if you need the net dont bother in this hotel. The food was the same everyday. As for the night club "UFO DISCO" that was a joke, their was like all men with their phones taking videos of the young girls. Im only 23 and my partner 26 and we hated it. Nothing to do. As for the drinks, its only really beer that you can get and that isnt all night it finished early, keep an eye on your room tab as ours was really wrong! Sorry if this is a bit much but we have been all over the place traveling and this was the one place i was really sick, we have been to Bali and all sorts and never been so sick, we stayed in back packing places that got better reviews than this. The only good food was the grill on the beach..only the first day we got to swim as we had not yet eaten in the hote, that was great the fish are wonderful. When you go swimming with the fish bring bolied eggs they go mad for them and you get great photos. Hope this Helps a little.. DONT GO TO THIS HOTEL!! Their is many better places.. Just keep looking.. good luck. (we didnt know of this web page before we went but if we did we would never have gone to this hotel.)

My boyfriend and I JUST came back from a week's stay in this resort and I do not think I could have tolerated any longer! As with previous reviews the staff will bend over backwards for you once they realise you are not Russian. The hotel was over populated by them (a good 90%), we were one of just a handful of English people staying there & it's not just this resort - they are all over Sharm! So be as kind and grateful to the staff as we could not praise them enough. Stay away from the 'main restaurant' in the hotel - just tolerate it for breakfast - we spent most lunchtimes and evenings in the 'Grill'(Baywatch) or the Italian (upstairs in the hotel). We did not experience the Seafood restaurant as you had to pay for this privilege. DO go snorkelling, DO the bedouin nights excursion with the 'astrology' - best night there & be warned you will get hassled and bugged to death when out in Naama Bay.

Just returned from 2 weeks with my family (wife and 3 kids 15,10 and 8) none of us wanted to come home. Room was large and clean family size, overlooking pools and red sea.
Food is not european but plenty of variety, and didn't get bored.
Staff were very polite, and friendly when they discover you are british not russian. Tip small amounts regularly and it works wonders.
Yes lots of russians but we had no problems. But germans, dutch, italians and Brits as well
Entertainment was limited but the kids liked the animation team and the different entertainment.
Having read the reviews here i was very worried before going.
I'm glad we didn't listen, as we had a fantastic time.
I would happily stay there again, but would also try another resort to compare.
