Three Corners Saint George

Me and my partner stayed at this hotel between 28th June and 10th July 2008. Have to say that we both thought that *most* of the hotel staff were excellent and could not do enough for you. The only ones we found to be a problem were the bar staff at the lobby bar as they seemed a bit arsey everytime we went there. Not to worry though. Our cleaner was amazing the place was always spotless and he always stopped for a chat to ask how you were when you saw him in the corridor. He would remember past conversations and i think that is just that extra something when they take an interest in their guests. Also when we got up at 4 in the morning to go on one of our trips there were cleaners around and in the pool scrubbing to get it clean for the morning!!! very impressive!!!

Now on to the food.. i am a very fusser eater and at every meal i could find something to eat. Some of it may of not been to my tastes but that does not mean there was not enough on offer or the food was crap. However i did get a bit sick of rice by the end of the holiday lol!

We went on 4 excursions whilst we were there..the sunset cruise with the hotel which i would recommend as a definate must! well worth the money and a really good afternoon/evening out! Cairo, Luxor and quad biking with thomas cook: for Cairo i would say if you're going to goto egypt you have to go and see the pyramids but for me now i have done it, if i went back to Egypt i wouldnt bother going again. Luxor on the otherhand was amazing and i would definately visit this place again. There is a hell of a lot to see here. As for quad biking im gald we did it as i can say ive quad biked in the desert but im a big baby and was scared lol!

A trip into naama bay is worth it to see it but it wasnt really our cup of tea just too much hassle whilst you're trying to shop. It is just their way of life though. The hotel does a free shuttle bus to and from there twice a day which is great as saves you money.

All in all we had a great holiday but we probably wouldnt go back to Egypt. This is not because we didnt enjoy it, simply because there are others places in the world we want to visit.

we just got home on thursday from our 2 weeks stay at the hotel. we found the hotel to have everything you need, i must say the food is terrible not much choice and repeated most days me and my partner had to eat out most days at the tavern bar turn right out the hotel bout 5mins walk on your right and picasos again right out of hotel bout 4min walk on your left by go -cart track both english owned, chez pascals at the hotel is not to bad for a meal.
The rooms are cleaned daily to high standers with clean towels. The hotel has hairdryers so you need not take as they our good.
We think everyone should take english money also as alot of the time you will be asked to pay in sterling and if you pay in LE you will also pay the exchange rate. Thomas cook rep is usless see Michael at the hotel reception desk to book trips half the price its also best to flag a taxi from out side the gates of the hotel loads cheaper and we had no problems with the drivers agree price 1st. namma bay 25le but some will take 20le el mecto (shopping center no hassel set prices english shops) 10 le waterpark cleo park 30 le. beach is horrible but you still get your food and drinks free down there. animation team at hotel really funny (larger larger) they do there best anyone who likes clubbing see Alex or Sami as they do take you into namma bay to pasha and hard rock cafe to 3am some nights. The men do give the women a bit of hassel even when your with your partner which is a pain and also when your trying to shop you will find they all say hay english can you tell me one thing please why do english pepole not come here anymore ( we said cause your all a pain in the arse) they ask this to get you into the shop then they will ask you to write into there book and push you to buy somthing. this hotel is really for familys or couples not much night entertiment 0nly until 11pm tho) so if your looking for a laff until the early hours go into namma bay. hope this helps with your hotel choice. If your booking with a travel agent avoid thomas cook we had the worst 6hr flight ever both ways with Koral Blue......

Got back from the St George on 06/07/2008 and we all had a great time.
The rooms are spacious and cleaned to a good standard
The restaurant is similarly maintained and we never had a problem with the standard or choice of food available.
The pools are well maintained and we always managed to get sunbeds in a suitable position the same was true at both of the beaches.
The beaches are a short bus ride away but are definately worth a visit (you can see a wide variety of fish with a snorkel at both beaches)
The bars always provided a prompt service, my only complaint was the small plastic glasses at the pool bars, I realise that it is for safety reasons and I guess that the small glasses meant that the beer didn't have a chance to get warm.
As always the staff are any hotels best asset and the St George staff are exemplary, always happy to help especially Michael, Sam and Lager lager.
I drank the water out of the coolers (in excess of 3 litres a day) for the entire stay and never had any problems, perhaps at least some of the complaints can be attributed to us Brits not been used to the heat and overdoing it, its was very nice and warm when we were there.
I know that some people did suffer from mosquitoes but we didn't suffer a single bite during the entire stay so can't comment on the misery they may have caused to others. we did use natural source lime shampoo and this does seem to work.
The only problems we encountered on the holiday were with the bank onsite, he will not exchange sterling travellers cheques for sterling even though he must have sterling as he exchanges Sterling for Egyptian cash.
The second problem we had was at the airport they tried to charge us £70.00 because our suitcases where unevenly loaded, he would not accept that all three cases were under the 60kg allowed so we had to repack them at the check in. The guy we dealt with unhelpful to the point of been damned right rude, a shame as even the airport security were all smiles and very courteous.
Would we return you bet, thanks to all the staff and reps who made this an extra special holiday

“An amazing Holiday *****”

Three Corners Saint George

Where do I start, Got back yesterday from an amazing two weeks in Sharm. St George is a fantastic hotel. The staff there are great very friendly and helpful. I was amazed at how quick and efficient everyone was. I highly rate the St George for families. The animation team do a great job during the day of keeping you busy if you wish, but by about the 10th game of water polo (need more playeeer) I was abit weiry.
Food was of a good standard, what you would expect when you have hundreds of people to feed with all different tastes, they do a good job.
Rooms are large with aircon and a large bathroom. They are very clean and the beds are comfy to sleep in.
Kids club is a godsend if you want to kick back and relax for a few hours during the morning and afternoon. Rebecca who does kids club does a fantastic job of keeping the kids entertained and happy whilst you relax by the pool. Would be a good idea if the hotel had her doing a baby sitting service in the evenings even if for an extra charge, as it would give you some time in the evening to relax too. Don't use the blue and white taxis as you can get the Kirosiez limosines for cheaper and you can arrange for them to come and pick you up.
Ahmed at the mermaid bar will keep you entertained for hours.
Weather was fantatsic, highly recommend both the Bedouin and Sunset cruise the hotel offer both amazing (Just speak to Micheal the Guest relations manager in the reception).
Met some very nice people over there and had some amazing experiances.
Be wary of Hassan from hammerheads diving, he is nice but the equipment on offer when we went to Ros Mohamed for snorkeling was crap. Make sure you take your own gear if you want to enjoy it.
Highly recmomend going to cairo (flying) and seeing the pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx. Far too many good things to list about the St George and Egypt but we will deffinatley be coming back!

what can i say that hasn't been said?

fantastic place. looks great, fantastic staff.

we were there jun/july 2008. from start to finish the staff couldn't do enough.
check-in was simple, the bellboys took the cases to the room (and didn't expect a tip btw) then within 2 minutes our late meals (we arrived after dinner was finished) arrived and were placed on the table for us (again they didn't expect a tip) room was great. clean and nicely arranged with a massive bed.

Drink: the usual sakkara beer :) and very nice it was too. spirits (vodka, gin, rum, whisky) and cocktails as well as red, white and rose wines.

Food: was very nice but did get a bit "samey" after the first week. desserts were wonderful if you like the egyptian idea that desserts need to be sticky to taste right :)

staff: special thanks go to fady in the bar (called me taffy the entire 2 weeks) michael the guest relations manager (even though he tried to steal the missus and didn't even offer some camels in exchange) adel for mixing some great cocktails and melad for keeping his cool as midnight approached. the service at the beach bar and restaurant was also fantastic and robert would have a great glass of pepsi waiting for you as you approached. not once did anyone hang around expecting a tip (so i left them in the tip boxes around the place) and finally thanks to afad for being the perfect cleaner. his towel sculptures were wonderful and we never had the same one twice
