Just returned from Delta Sharm and landed back in Manchester at 4am this morning. Having read the other reviews before travelling, I had some reservations but you have to experience these things for yourself as what suits one person doesn't suit another, so went with an open mind.
My god, what a shambles!!! This is not a hotel but more like a housing estate, which comprised of 2 storey building over a very large area. We had a studio apartment which, I have to say, was very nice and in the new part of the complex. It was clean and spacious, but was situated at the further point of the complex which meant that you had to walk at least 20 minutes before reaching the one restaurant and one bar which catered for the all inclusive deal. Over the course of a week backwards and forwards it became very tiresome. There was more than enough staff, in fact I would say they were over staffed and a lot of them were just standing about, but the service was dreadful having to wait anything up to half an hour to get a drink and then you were lucky if they actually brought you what you ordered!! The food was terrible and my friend and I lived on toast for breakfast, salad for lunch and we ate out most nights because evening dinner was disgusting. I have never seen such weird combinations of food, for example, they would put out black olives and sliced cucumber at breakfast, together with a whole load of other crap! They advertise an oriental restaurant which for an additional $10 you have have a meal there. We decided to give it a go, but this was no oriential restaurant as I know it. We read the menu and walked out but to give you an idea of what was on offer. . . pigeon, stuffed intestines and ox tail, to name a few that I can remember. We didn't stay long enough to digest the menu properly.
They claim to have 2 private beaches and we did go on the free shuttle bus one day, but once you're there that's it. No food, no drinks and the only thing they could offer us was water. We stayed 10 minutes and got a taxi back to the complex.
The gardens are beautiful, green and lush with lovely flowers and there are 12 pools. The main pool is loud with the same music blasting out day after day, however if that's not your thing you can find quieter pools around the complex. But, then you have to treak back to the main pool again to get a drink?
I would never in a million years recommend this place to anyone. Its full of middle aged women hooking up with young egyptian males and its very obvious what's going on here so I will leave that to your imagination - its embarrassing!!
Don't waste your money on this place, you could do far better. This was my 3rd time to Sharm and have stayed in some really nice hotels, however, if this was my 1st experience then this would have put me off for good, never to return.
