“Staff make this hotel nice.”

Three Corners Palmyra Resort

May 16, 2008

I have just come back from a 2 week holiday here with my boyfriend.
The hotel is a very nice hotel, not sure if I would say it is 4* but definately lovely to look at and it is kept spotless by the staff who work very hard.
Our room was cleaned to a high standar by Mohamed every day and he would regularly make lovely animals out of our towels which was nice.
The pools were freezing but I guess its a hot country so cant expect them to be heated! They were very clean though as were the areas surrounding the pool.
The lobby was nice and the few shops in the hotel were decent and not badly priced but a couple of thr shop owners were slightly annoying like the perfume guy! But the jewellery shop owner and the guy who owned the bazaar shop opposite the toilets was a nice guy too.
The restaurant was big but I didnt like the flies that would fly in there constantly. I know it is hard as the doors are open so they can easily fly in but they must do something to stop that as they would go on the food sometimes. The food itself is not that bad. There was alot of variety but in all honesty it did get very repetetive and towards the end of my holiday I was sick of seeing the same food. Plus it is very bland. But the chefs were very nice especially the guy who would do eggs for breakfast and most of the waiters gave an excellent service especially Amro.
The animation team were great and provided entertainment throughout the day. We didnt stay around the pool much as we preferred the beach where it was much hotter and the sea was warmer. The beach isnt sand which was disappointing but the sealife does not disappoint, snorkelling around there is a must, it is amazing! And def do scuba diving, u can do an introductory dive for £25, well worth the money!
We organized a few trips through people on the beach, just boat trips and quad biking which was cheaper than our tour company.
If you go to Cairo go by plane as we went by coach and they drive like maniacs, I was very scared!
The hotel in all wasnt bad and I quite enjoyed my stay and the staff definately make this hotel. However, the only thing that spoiled it was the Europeans and Russians, they are so rude! They dont know how to say thanks and just stare at you like theyve never seen black people before!
Whereas every British person we met were lovely. I would definately stay at a more British orientated hotel next time.
Oh and some of the reception staff were rude I am sorry to say, Especially one in particular and when we asked for a wake up call twice, both times we didnt get it. When I went to complain the man (who incidentally wrote our hotel number on the sheet whihc I saw him do) checked the sheet and someone had purposely changed the last number of our room to an 8!
The hotel was nice but I would stay somewhere else next time

“friendliest staff ever know in egyptian hotel”

Three Corners Palmyra Resort

May 14, 2008

I have been to several hotels in egypt, granted many of them far superior, but what the 3 corners lacks, it certainly makes up for in everything else. the staff are absolutely fantastic, extremely friendly, and always on hand to help. no hassle round the pool from sellers, once told no they leave you alone apart from to say good morning. i am used to 5 star hotels, but would far rather go back to this one and have the friendliness of staff

food was extremely good in comparison to all other egyptian hotels i have stayed in, plenty of variety, always hot and they did cater for the english as well, even offered mash potatoe!! i cannot understand anyone who could complain about the food in general.

the animation team were fantastic, they work very very hard, they always take the time to chat to everyone on a daily basis, ensuring everyone is ok and having a good time. a special mention to Tito and Sasha from the animation team, they are fantastic and a couple of the nicest guys i have ever met. they keep the kids entertained and occupied all day every day, there is always something going on and there is no pressue to join in.

this was my 7th trip to egpyt and one of the best, and granted there are some stunning hotels in sharm, but i will definately being going back, if only to visit the staff.

if i had to find a downside it would be that the shower was very dark and small and we were very close to the airport, but in the scheme of things this is irrelevant, considering everything else on offer.

i forgot to mention michael, he runs the jewellary shop, he is a lovely guy and does not try to rip you off, if u go there bring a lettuce leaf out of the restaurant every evening for his tortoise!!

please contact me if u need anymore info ajennings2@ntlworld.com

“Great stay”

Three Corners Palmyra Resort

The staff at the Three Corners certainly make this a hotel worth visiting. The food is very good, plenty of variety to suit all needs. The beef, chicken and inparticularly the vegetarian selections were great, deserts included rice pudding, delicious sponge cakes.

The best place to buy your jewellery is actually in the reception, we went to the old market and Narma Bay but the prices were better with Michael in his jewellery and handbag shop and for gifts Cater and Rena at their shop. There was no trouble with haggling they gave their best price.and it was.

Full charm and entertainment from Shawkey at the reception bar and Ahmed. All the staff are friendly and helpful. This is our second visit and we are booking next year.

“Wonderful place, excellent value for money, excellent staff”

Three Corners Palmyra Resort

booked my holiday through hotelandflights.com paid less than £900 for two people all inc 10 nights

Hotel

Arrived on 14th April, what an amazing place, beautiful hotel, looked nicer than plenty of others i passed on the way. only 10 mins from airport which was very conveneint.

The room was lovely, we had our own balcony with a view of the main pool. The rooms were cleaned everyday and we had nice sculptures on the beds made from towels. The cleaner was a great guy too, very friendly. (we also got 2 bottles of water everyday, where as other people in the hotel didn't... This must have been because we were nice to the cleaner, however we didn't tip him until the end).

Pools & Sunbeds
plenty of sunbeds for everyone, the pools were spotless, cleaned for about 5 hours everyday. The kiddies pool was slightly heated.

Beach
see some lovely fish at the end of the jetty, pretty colours, and big in size. Didn't get any mither round pool or beach.

Food
I must say if your not a fussy eater you will be fine here, theres about 8 different meals served each meal time, however if your like me and wont try anything new there was always kiddies corner that had good food to offer. The managers didn't mind that alot of people were getting food from here. They had chips on often, (which was a blessing) cakes and bread were amazing, taste gorgeous too!

There is a Mcdonalds down the road who deliver, reception are happy to ring for you.

Staff
Mahmoud from in the club was a great guy, always went out of his way to do something for you, Ehab (Bob) always had a big smile on his face, very friendly and helpful.

All the staff were amazing and really made my holiday, the animation team were very funny and had a different sho every night.

Went quad biking in the desert - really enjoyed this
If you want to book an excursion, see Seena from the animation team, she had far better prices that the reps.

Shops
Get some quality stuff from the shops, cheap cigs, ornaments, gifts, keyrings, t-shirts, bags, jewellery. the bazar shop even sells pringles, chocolate and sweets.

I would definatley go back here, the hospitality was great, i felt really well looked after and i really hope next time i go the staff are still there.

ONE WARNING
I wouldn't advise hiring a car over there unless you want to die, The rules of driving in Egypt are, 1. Drive as fast as you can 2 undertake or overtake its up to you 3 Pull out on people 4 drive as close as you can to the car in front and the best one beep every 10 seconds (even though there is nothing to beep at!)
The driving is awful, no head lights, 100mph on mobile phone, however our hotel had its contracted taxi drivers, they do charge a little more than the white cabs, but i would advise to pay it. Your much safer in there than the white cabs and the busses.

“not great”

Three Corners Palmyra Resort

Apr 28, 2008
1/1 found this review helpful

i have just arrived back from a week at the Palmyra and i was dissapointed, i stayed at the three corners kiroseiz in 2007 which was fantastic and expected the same standard however this was not the case, the rooms were basic and needed some work, the food started off ok at the start of the week unfortunately by the end both myself and my partner were ill with stomach upsets, the hotel is a good 20 mins from Naama Bay and as the evening entertainment was not great this was too far out if you wanted some nightlife, also as the hotel is only 10 mins from the airport you have to put up with a lot of aircraft noise throughout the day, however on the positive side the staff were great, really friendly and helpful.
