“If you love Russians this is the place for you”

Royal Plaza Hotel

THE FOOD
If you love Russians or Eastern block people this is the place for you, the hotels caters mainly to these peoples taste and appetite. If you like cold soup, fish heads, complete with the staring eyes, raw potatoes and most of all cold food, you will be in your element. They fill their plates to overflowing and make sure that no food is left for others; almost every thing that can be said about this awful hotel has already been said. Also although we were all inclusive there were no snacks between breakfast and lunch and lunch and evening meal which did cause a problem in my case being a diabetic.

THE ROOMS
The one thing in favour of the Plaza is the rooms; ours was spotless and mopped out by the room boy every day. The towels were changed each day and the bed linen every 2 days.

THE POOLS
The 2 swimming pools were clean and warm but the roof pool seems to have a deaf barman as the music is so loud you have to sit at the far end of the pool before you can hear yourself think. You also had to have the company of the towel boys when they decided to join the guests for a swim in the pool to cool down.

THE BAR
If you want a drink, be prepared to wait. At each bar there is a barman and the man that prints the bill and there is no flexibility between these two. If one of them is missing you don’t get served, it is as simple as that. The barman is not allowed to print the bills and the man that prints the bills is not allowed to serve. The bars also had the problem of running out of beer and coke. When they did run out that was it until the following day when they would ‘stock’ up the bar all the drinks are served in paper Coke cups I expect the hotel gets them free. If you drink beer you will note that you do not get a whole bottle of beer, you only get a plastic coke cup full; the rest is left in the bottle for the next person who wants a beer, the longer that takes the flatter the beer, and no, you can’t have the rest of the beer in another plastic cup, only one cup per person.

THE HOTEL OVERALL
We paid £240.00p for 14 days each ‘all inclusive’ even at this low price it was not value for money if I were forced to go there again I would go bed and breakfast and even then I think we would be looking at eating breakfast out.

As has been written before the hotel entrance looks 5* but then it rapidly goes downhill to about 1*.

My advice is to give this hotel a miss.

“5* - who you kidding!”

Royal Plaza Hotel

Oct 9, 2007

As you walk into this hotel, you may think you have made the right decision, but you so realise you haven't. The reception looks great, the room was good too, but the restaurant and service was not 5*. We stayed on 2 short trips here. The first night we arrived at midnight and they told us they couldnt except our voucher and we didnt have a room. They wanted us to pay for the full price of a room, which we had already paid for. Eventually sorted next morning. Breakfast was fine. On our 2nd short stay, we only managed one night in for dinner (which I am now glad). We didnt even get to have a drink during this meal, when we asked for one, it hadn't even arrived before we finished. The choice of food wasn't great, I dont know how they could offer All Inclusive.
I know I won't head back to this hotel and will not recommend it to anyone i know.

“5* hotel ???”

just arrived back from a week staying all inclusive in the so called 5* royal plaza in sharm. more like a 2*, 3 at a push. started out looking like a good choice, pleasant view from the front followed by the same in the reception area. we didnt recieve the welcome drink that it states although we wernt too bothered about that. after checking in we were led to our rooms which was quite a walk, we went through corridors with no lights on which remained off throughout the holiday, the same corridors were also filled with dust and wires from room refurbishments which resembled a building site rather than a 5* hotel. we had to use these corridors every day to get to the roof top pool or to the restaurant/ bar area so there was no avoiding it. the rooms were really pleasant, spacious and well air conditioned, the cleaners were excellent and made things out of the towels as a surprise for us. only 2 pools not 3 like stated and niether were heated, there was no daytime activities or evening entertainment. the food was really poor, and was the same choice every day for lunch and dinner. the waiters were really rude and didnt seem to want to serve anybody if they were A.I, on three occasions we didnt even get a drink during the meal we were waiting that long. no snacks throughout the day like you would normally expect from A.I unless you wanted to pay or travel on the bus to the private beach. excellent location, next to naama bay were we spent just about every night for food and drink. drinks in the hotel were from bottles poured into a glass that were usually flat. on one occasion all the bars had run out of beer at 8.00pm. dont recommend this hotel at all.

“Royal Plaza Hotel 13/09/07 – 27/09/07 - Not 5 Star”

Royal Plaza Hotel

We visited the Royal Plaza between 13/09/07 – 27/09/07. The hotel was ok but the food was rubbish no way a 5 star hotel. The staff are very friendly, especially the little cleaner we had. When we booked the hotel we were told there would be a snack bar on the roof terrace but there was not. Also we was never once informed when we booked this hotel that there would be construction work going on during this period. The roof top pool is the best part of the hotel by a long way. The Royal Plaza is Ideally located within a 5-min walk to the heart of Naama Bay, where we ate our dinner 85% of the time. We really enjoyed our time in Sharm and would go back but to a different hotel. If you are going to book any excursions book them in the shop within the hotel, as they are much cheaper than the rep. Although there were some disappointments with the hotel we will be returning to Sharm next year.
