“Cute room, beware the food!”

Stayed here for 2 nights, 1 of them being New Year's Eve. We paid a very low price for this and were bed and breakfast board. We were pleasantly surprised that the New Year's Eve gala dinner was included in our stay - a good bargain overall. The domed rooms (we were on a top floor) were nice. The food, however, was dreadful and caused us longer term problems. My wife and I both suffered food poisoning here and it took me 40 days to shake it off (I kid you not)! My wife needed just a week. Upon leaving, the front desk tried his luck by giving us a ridiculous taxi price so we went outside and immediately got one for less than half his price. The reviewer below this mentioned a similar thing - staff attempting to rip guests off. We were then chased by a different reception staff member who insisted we hadn't paid for some mineral water which we hadn't drunk. I refused to pay and he begrudgingly accepted it. I wonder if I'd taken the taxi they offered whether or not this would have happened. A nice enough place at a good price spoiled by the dismal, dangerous food and staff's best efforts to rip you off.

“Avoid this god forsaken hotel”

Amar Sina Village Hotel

This place is by far the worst hotel we have stayed in and when you consider we have been travelling for some 35 years, sometimes 4 times per year, this takes some beating. The food was always lukewarm which is very dangerous when you consider that chicken was the mainstay of this hotel. The food was terrible and almost everyone complained about it. We we all inclusive and on our first night (Xmas Eve) there was a grand banquet for the event. This was our first tasting of this food. We shared a table with another three people who had arrived a couple of days earlier. When we mentioned that the food was only lukewarm, they said that this was the norm. They then said that the meal wasn't worth the £15 each they had paid. We told them that we were AI and they said they were and that the hotel had said that this meal was not included in under the AI. We were never asked for any money. It seemed to us that even the staff were trying to riff you off. Our room was always covered in a layer of dust as the cleaner seemed to spend most of his time making ruddy swans out of the towels instead of cleaning the room. The pool was absolutely freezing and there were so many cracked or missing tiles, it beggared belief how they could let children anywhere near it. There was a bit of entertainment but thwe main problem with this was it was during evening meal time, so the hotel staff brought the tables from inside the dining room and put the tables around the pool. Bear in mind the time of year....temperatures plummet at sundown so everyone was eating with there coat on. The only good things about here was the weather and it didn't cost a lot.

“Our Favourite Hotel”

Amar Sina Village Hotel

Alicia and Sarah
This was our second visit to the Amar Sina, the first was a year ago, and we enjoyed it so much we decided to visit again. It was like coming back to an old friend, and the staff made us feel welcome. Our room was large and comfortable, overlooking the pool. The bathroom was
clean, but the shower from the room above leaked on to our floor. This
seems to be an on-going problem, as we had the same last year.
However, the bath mat absorbed the water, and it only happened once or twice a day.

We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. We know that they work long hours, with poor wages, and most of them are far from home.
Alicia had made an effort to learn some Arabic, which she was practising on them. They were highly impressed by this and were teaching her new words. Most of them could speak a little in several languages. We also found them to have a great sense of humour. We were
on the All Inclusive board, which was very cheap and excellent value for money. Food was plentiful and tasty; all kinds of drinks were served until 11pm free of charge.

The atmosphere is relaxed and calm. We wanted a restful holiday and that's exactly what it was. We strolled about, lazed by the pool, visited the camel and her baby, and enjoyed ourselves eating and drinking.

(The names of Alicia and Sarah are not our real ones, as they were too difficult for staff to pronounce.)

“Fantastic Amar Sina!”

We had the most fabulous time. The staff were absolutely fantastic and we made real friends with a couple of guys - Magby and Abdul. Everyone is friendly and helpful with smiles in abundance. The hotel offers an Egyptian Village atmosphere both in the rooms and around the hotel areas. There is a lovely pool and bar, however, if you are not all inclusive, the drinks (local beer - £2.50) are more expensive than the UK, which is a huge disappointment. We booked through TravelRepublic.co.uk and would definitely book through them again. Thanks Amar Sina for looking after us so well, we'll definitely come back.
